Outstanding Girls Receive Recognition The crowning of the 1970-71 Troy- ian Queen took place on Friday, March 19, at a dance in her honor. The girls' gym, attractively decorated to the theme song of Everybody ls a Star, was strung with rows of silver stars, while couples danced the night away to vibrations of the band, Flight. During the first break, the five candidates and their escorts filed forward to the stage and awaited the news. They were Janet Berg, Whit- ney Drake, Karen Hey, Robin Sher- wood, and Leanne Williams. These girls were selected on the basis of scholarship, contribution to school, leadership, participation, and citi- zenship both in school and in the community. Miss Janet Berg, strongly quali- fying in all of these areas, was crowned our 1970-71 Troyian Queen to the enthusiastic approval of the audience. The Senior Class selected Janet in appreciation for being the ideal person she is, friendly to all and sincerely interested in making things better. Her hard work, dedi- cation, and unfailing purpose have won her the admiration of many.
