SALUTE TO MR RUSSELL G. JONES My congratulations to the Seniors of 1969, and my thanks to all the students and faculty for their fine cooperation this school year. Your school has attempted to meet the responi- bility of teaching what you will use as men and wo- men, not only in an academic way, but in the creation of well-rounded individuals who have the mental abilities and moral aptitudes to meet the problems of life adequately. We are proud of the accomplishments of our students but we are not content to rest on their lau- rels. We are aware that tomorrow even greater prob- lems will confront them. For that reason we hope Park Hill Senior High will continue to do its part to educate graduates who can successfully meet the challenges of a changing world. I believe our youth have the fine qualities that will respond to the present urgency for an increase in both excellence and quantity of learning. I firmly believe also that if the future requires greater competency of the adult, that the students of today have the capabilities and willingness to achieve the added knowledge and skills. In earning a diploma, each of you have become a part of the recorded history of Park Hill Senior High School and your future attainments will be of interest to your school. I wish each of you every success as you move out into the adult world. Russell G. Jones In appreciation for his 23 years of dedicated service in the R-5 School District, the Annual Staff salutes Mr Russell G Jones Cretiring superintendentj and extends to him our best wishes for every success in his new field of endeavor.

ADMINISTRATIO Dr. James J. Harmon, Superintendent Mr. William Langley, Assistant Superintendent Those of you who are attending high school today represent the future of society, and as such, need to be prepared to resolve the problems of that future. An examination of the future with its rapid rate of change, its many problems, and what appears to be overwhelming complexities, on first appearance tends to be frightening. However, a second examination re- veals that such a period can be challenging, rewarding, and extremely interesting to people who are prepared. Therefore, for those of you who represent the future, look at it with confidence and anticipation. It should provide you with many rewarding experiences. May you have the best of luck as you continue your prepara- tion. James J. Harmon It is appropriate at this time to direct our atten- tion to the Senior Class of Park Hill High School. As graduation draws near each senior is accorded a unique perspective of his world. The many changes occurring in our society are seen in their true light as challenges and opportunities for those who dare to face them. Yet, while facing the future, each senior is aware of the role of the past in shaping his ability to handle this chal- lenge. Maintaining this perspective is one of the keys to a happy and productive life. To each senior goes my sincere hope that we have prepared you well for the future you face. Best wishes to the Class of '69l William Langley
