Next to our parents, they probably take a greater interest in our general welfare than any other group of people. They realize that we will be the leaders of tomorrow, trying to combat the problems of life that may arise. They are helping us to prepare for the future in many ways. They have been instrumental in giving us this new Park Hill Senior High School with plans in the future for an admini- stration building, a fieldhouse, and an athletic field for foot- ball and a quarter-mile track. If it were not for the Board of Education, Park Hill would never have attained its high standing in the state or accomplished what it has in the past. Park Hill's students appreciate them to the utmost for their fine job. For these reasons and for their unselfish devotion to often-unappreciated service to the community we, the TROY- IAN Staff, dedicate this, the 1959 TROYIAN, to the members of the Board of Education.

Mr. Brown says: Your parents and the adults of this community, with the help of the State, have made it possible for you to have the full advantage of the best education you can want. We are deeply appreciative of the gen- erous support shown by our patrons in equipping our schools with the most advanced tools and laborator- ies with which to work, and also their interest in employing the best-prepared and devoted teachers to guide our youth. Although the facilities are available for everyone in our district, it does not guarantee an equal edu- cation to all. Your education will cost you practically nothing but hard work. The advantage you take of this opportunity depends upon your efforts. Schools are maintai.ned to foster learning, both book-learning and learning to get along with other people. No longer do people live alone We live in a civilization which has achieved the greatest exchange of services between human beings that any civilization has yet needed. The adjusnnent you have made to your new surroundings has been most pleasing. Our first year in our new building has been marked by many achievements, and we hope that as you continue your education you will take advantage of the many services that are available at your school.
