R-5 BOARD OF EDUCATION Mrs. Marvin F. Kintz,SecretarygRussellG.,Tones,Superintendent of Schools Edward J Schuett President Board of Education, Alfred L. Renner, Vice-Presidentg B G Case Member F A Brand Member Win ston J. Peeler, Memberg Earl W. Snider, Member. To the High School Students of the R-5 School District: Many of you are graduating and will soon leave us. To you seniors who have worked hard and diligently these last four years, our best congratulations to you. From now on your investment in study and learning will begin to pay rewarding dividends. To those who have one to two years to go -- We are concentrating our every effort towards bettering your edue cational system, both in academic standing and physical sur- roundings. For example, the new Park Hill Senior High should be an inspiration to us all. New in every way, it will be eagerly awaiting you to bring it to life this coming school term. Every new school year presents a challenge. To the students: the realization that much of what you do now will, in a large degree, shape your future. To the Faculty, Administrators, and School Board: the responsibility to see that nothing is left undone to give the students a full measure of the opportunity to develop their intellectual and social qualities which are so highly regarded in our present day society. With our best wishes for success and progress, TheR-5 School Board PARK HILL SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL 8

PRI CIPAL :Y Q 5 Z Q s 5 RAY L. BROWN, PRINCIPAL OF PARK HILL HIGH SCHOOL THE PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE We should always keep foremost in our mind that the greatest resource in our country is the youth of today. Education must be a personal undertaking if we are to receive the optimum benefits in a world where so much progress has been made in physical and mechanical sciences. It is imperative that we learn to live and work together in a world where the jet plane and atomic power are bringing nations closer together in a geographical world. Many phases of our lives in public education should emphasize the importance of learning how to get along with other people, and the frontier of human understanding is a vital problem among all people. If there is a real science of human relations at the present, it must be better developed. This has been a year marked by many achievements and in the coming years, when we are located in our new building, we anticipate greater things. It is my hope that we can all become better acquainted as the years progress. 7
