JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY Nancy Parriott, Treasurer: Gary Fish, President: Timi Carlson, Vice President: Dan Rickett, Secretary, 32 This year the activities of the junior class were guided by our capable class officers and our home room chairmen: Bob Means, Bruce Smith, Gary Bartholomew, and Dan Rickett. Our student council members, Gary Fish, Timi Carlson, Dan Rickett, Nancy Parriott, Bob Means, Bruce Smith, Gary Bar- tholomew, and Myrna Eyerly, also took a hand in running the school. We started the year out with a bang and presented the play, Second Childhood, It was difficult to select the Girls' and Boys' State delegates and alternates from such a large eligible group. The final choice for the girl delegates were: Elaine White, Sandy Broadbent, Key Manzari, and Timi Carlson: alternates were: Myrna Eyerly, Betty Hunter, Emma Jean Bickle, and Anita Bouchee. The boy delegates were: Richard Nelson, Gary Bartholomew, Gary Fish, Dan Rickett, Jack Dunn, and Bruce Smith: alternates were: Richard Rongstad, Larry Dunlap, George Venable, Phil Wanek, Jerry O'Hair, and Ed Smith. Betty Hunter was selected by the girls to represent them in the Vaughn Ragsdale Fashion Board, On May 4, the Junior Prom was held in honor of the seniors, The gym looked like a Japanese Tea Garden with a small boy and girl passing out programs. Myrna Eyerly and Bob Means entered the district speech contest at Dillion, Bob placed first with serious declamation, and Myrna placed fourth with original oratory: she also placed third in the state speech contest at Missoula, Eleven major letters went to junior boys this year, These athletic awards went to Harold Gilkey, Ronnie Rang, Bill Bauer, Ron Haugan, Henry Hansen, Dick West, Ken Kastelitz, Bob Vandervort, and Buddy Johnson. Buddy Johnson also participated in the State Track Meet in Missoula. Dan Rickett also boosted the esteem of the junior class by winning the Odd Fellows Citizenship Award, Aldonna Walbom was elected as one of the five A squad cheerleaders, The annual TNT election was held, and the nine junior girls admitted to the ranks were: Betty Hunter, Elaine white, Marjorie Bishop, Joyce Swainson, Juanita Miller, Lois Jones, Elaine Pulis, Lo- Retta Tudor, and Aldonna Walborn. The junior class pitched in to decorate for the senior commencement and baccalaureate, On these nights the gym and auditorium were decorated with purple lilacs, white apple blossoms, and multi- colored tulips. Though a few names stand out, we must remember that it took the wholehearted cooperation of every member of the class to successfully carry out the traditional junior activities and make this a year which each of us will always remember, Myrna Eyerly
