bnutijzm ihisiun ilfnumzp Park 66 Custer 57 . . . . the Rangers opened the Southern Division Tourney at Anaconda by beating the Custer Cowboys 66-57 . . . . the Cowboys led at the quarter 11-10 but a second period rally by the Rangers put them ahead at half time 31-22 .... the Rangers then came back and poured on the coal to finish going away .... Vandervort led all scorers with 24 points .... Park 53 Anaconda 66 . . . . Park played the home standing Cofpperheads and came up against one of the hotest teams they had met all season .... the Copperheads jumped to a 12-10 quarter lead and then broke up a 19-19 tie near half-time and went on to lead 25-19 at intermission .... the Copperheads then opened up a blistering attack and led 46-32 with just one quarter to go .... the Rangers just cou1dn't match the uncanny accuracy of the Copper- heads and the game ended 66-53 .... Pearson played an outstanding floor game and came out high man for the Rangers with 13 points .... Park 53 Dawson 69 . . . . the Rangers opened the Saturday morning sessions to find a red hot Dawson team waiting for them . . . . the Red Devils led 19-7 at the quarter and were never bothered for the rest of the game .... this eliminated the Rangers from further tourney play .... Pearson was again the big gun for the Rangers with 19 points .... last game for three seniors, Nelson, Figgins, and Wenaas .... bquah ' s Kneeling: Mgr. Bob Angle, Larry Dunlap, Henry Hansen, Jack Percival, Jack Dunn, Bill Males. Wilber Edwards, Dick West, Mgr. Bruce Fuher. Standing: Buddy Johnson, Ryan Swan, Dave Murdock, Doug Egeland, Bill Harris, Coach George Beadle, Doug Kruse, Harold Gilkey, Dan Roark, Jim Goligoski, Bob Vandervort. The Ranger Cubs had their best year in PCHS history, piling up a record of 14 victories and only one setback. Some of the B squad improved and developed so much that they were sent up to the varsity.
