fleas ,Ulajiecy Waiting for my dinner in an ex- clusive hotel dining room, I picked up the New Yorker Magazine, being edited now by Larry Pease and his wife, Helen, who was formerly Helen Blaski. They are really doing a good job too. As I started to leaf through it, a familiar name caught my eye. Reading on I found the article was a review on the latest performanceofdm nAndrew Brothers,n I'm sure you'll remember them as Jake Campbell and Jim' Lobermeir. They are said to be the hottest thing since the Andrews Sisters. I was interrupted as an old friend, Rose Weiss, who I hadn't seen since high school came over to see me. I discovered she was head of the hostess department on the Pan Amer- ican Line. I asked her about some of her old side-kicks and found she just had a letter from Sammy Smith. Sammy is down in South America. She is one of the leading South American psychologists now. I com- plemented her on her hair style and she told me she had it fixed at Madame Dunn's CBecky to you! House of Beauty on Fifth Avenue. By this time my dinner was here so I started to eat. Finding the food delicious I had to ask who the chef was. Imagine my surprise at finding out it was Johnny Hilgartl The orchestra started playing just then so I stopped to listen. I was positive I'd heard that trum- pet playing some place so afterdinf ner I went in the cocktail lounge to find out who was the leader and guess who? Ray Hilgartl His singer is Nan Haggerty. According to their record sellings they're doing all right. There is also a dancing team with them that have a very good act. Their names' are Anna Mae P. and Roger Iverson. Retiringto my room for the night I picked up the evening paper and noticed the headlinesu-nPresident goes on Vacation.N Naturally I was glad to hear Red Scherwinski was taking a well deserved rest. I hear Genie Bergmark is Captain of the Presidentia yacht now--Dorothy Hoefferle is his private secretary- Qhow's that for an example of the spoils system?J Well, finding all the kids like this in one day certainly got me interested so I went home for a class reunion to find out about everybody. This is the result of my curiosity! Jeanette Larson and Mary Ann Sarafin are joint heads of the new WAngels of Mercyu Hospital out in California. Sally Sell, of course, owns that famous cocktail lounge on broadway. I hear she bought her dad out and later expanded. Bernie Wallner is the dancing sensation of the Great Whiteway now. She works at Sallys. Of course we've got our share of nMrs.n in our class Klucky galsl. There'sNmrge Yunk QMrs. Mrotekj and Gen Anderson Cshe married LeRoy, natchll Of course you all know our class distinguished itself in sports too, with Caroline Pritzl a member of the world famous nHotshotsn and Jake Miller coach at Notre Dame. They've really had some spectacular scores lately, didn't they? Did you know Jackie Grassel is running a secretarial school in Chicago? She's advocating that her girls use chairs instead of the boss's lap. We all felt bad though cause the nlrish Darlingn of the theatre, Pat Carey couldn't make it. It seems his private doctor, the famous specialist Ralph Malach, operated on him and left his scalpel in him. Now Patis having his lawyer, Gerald Schmidt sue Ralphie. Ralphie's case is that the ether was too strong, but Gerry is basing his case on two influential witnesses, the radio comedians Floyd and Wayne McMullen. It seems they saw Ralphie out at nSally'sn too late. Marge Zingen owns the Bordens Company. fThere are now 8 members of Elsie's family.D Bob Zierer, nKingcf the Cowboysn has his program on Wednesdays now. His singer Ken Weiss, couldn't make itom.Tuesday as he had a commercial at the same time. Vernie Falstad, maker of the new type pop Qin all flavorsj that is rapidly replacing liquor Kit's stronger anywayl, is his new sponsor. I9
