They are really doing a good job too. As I started to leaf through it, a familiar name caught my eye. Reading on I found the article was a review on the latest performanceofdm nAndrew Brothers,n I'm sure you'll remember them as Jake Campbell and Jim' Lobermeir. They are said to be the hottest thing since the Andrews Sisters. I was interrupted as an old friend, Rose Weiss, who I hadn't seen since high school came over to see me. I discovered she was head of the hostess department on the Pan Amer- ican Line. I asked her about some of her old side-kicks and found she just had a letter from Sammy Smith. Sammy is down in South America. She is one of the leading South American psychologists now. I com- plemented her on her hair style and she told me she had it fixed at Madame Dunn's CBecky to you! House of Beauty on Fifth Avenue. By this time my dinner was here so I started to eat. Finding the food delicious I had to ask who the chef was. Imagine my surprise at finding out it was Johnny Hilgartl The orchestra started playing just then so I stopped to listen. I was positive I'd heard that trum- pet playing some place so afterdinf ner I went in the cocktail lounge to find out who was the leader and guess who? Ray Hilgartl His singer is Nan Haggerty. According to their record sellings they're doing all right. There is also a dancing team with them that have a very good act. Their names' are Anna Mae P. and Roger Iverson. Retiringto my room for the night I picked up the evening paper and noticed the headlinesu-nPresident goes on Vacation.N Naturally I was glad to hear Red Scherwinski was taking a well deserved rest. I hear Genie Bergmark is Captain of the Presidentia yacht now--Dorothy Hoefferle is his private secretary- Qhow's that for an example of the spoils system?J Well, finding all the kids like this in one day certainly got me interested so I went home for a class reunion to find out about everybody. This is the result of my curiosity! Jeanette Larson and Mary Ann Sarafin are joint heads of the new WAngels of Mercyu Hospital out in California. Sally Sell, of course, owns that famous cocktail lounge on broadway. I hear she bought her dad out and later expanded. Bernie Wallner is the dancing sensation of the Great Whiteway now. She works at Sallys. Of course we've got our share of nMrs.n in our class Klucky galsl. There'sNmrge Yunk QMrs. Mrotekj and Gen Anderson Cshe married LeRoy, natchll Of course you all know our class distinguished itself in sports too, with Caroline Pritzl a member of the world famous nHotshotsn and Jake Miller coach at Notre Dame. They've really had some spectacular scores lately, didn't they? Did you know Jackie Grassel is running a secretarial school in Chicago? She's advocating that her girls use chairs instead of the boss's lap. We all felt bad though cause the nlrish Darlingn of the theatre, Pat Carey couldn't make it. It seems his private doctor, the famous specialist Ralph Malach, operated on him and left his scalpel in him. Now Patis having his lawyer, Gerald Schmidt sue Ralphie. Ralphie's case is that the ether was too strong, but Gerry is basing his case on two influential witnesses, the radio comedians Floyd and Wayne McMullen. It seems they saw Ralphie out at nSally'sn too late. Marge Zingen owns the Bordens Company. fThere are now 8 members of Elsie's family.D Bob Zierer, nKingcf the Cowboysn has his program on Wednesdays now. His singer Ken Weiss, couldn't make itom.Tuesday as he had a commercial at the same time. Vernie Falstad, maker of the new type pop Qin all flavorsj that is rapidly replacing liquor Kit's stronger anywayl, is his new sponsor. I9 Marilyn Weiks, the actress, is now playingin nAlways Jaden written by the leading novelist Arly Welty. Joan Hickey is now a model for Jake Powers. She usually models exclusive dresses from Betty Thibedeau's Fashion Wise shop. Don Herbst operates Sun Valley now. He just bought it last year, after he sold his resort at Palm Springs. Betty Fleming married a million- aire and as she is honeymooning in the Carribean area now, she was un- able to attend the reunion. Ruth Hilgart is happily married to Art Herbst and they now own Sugarbush. Bud Heyel is a model for HWild- root Cream Oil.H His slogan is Get your hair waving, without slav- ing. x Sllqqbsx a xg? xg Charlotte Olson is a history teacher at the University of Wis- consin now. She is writing a book called NHistory Simplified! I'm sure that at least everyone of us must at one time or another have worn one of those devine chapeaux created by Bob Love. I hearhehas quite a soaring business. I saw Helen Alley, the star fashion reporter on the Daily Clarinet, wearing onethe other day at Ropy's. Donna Hilgart is now working on her new theory of gravity. She is disproving the old Einstein theory. Doug Glennis governor of Wiscon- sin. He has just decreed that school will start at 9:00 and end at 2:OO,with no SChOO14I1W6dH6SdHyS and Fridays. Q NM! We found that with the able leadership we had, the greenness soon rubbed off. We elected as officers Gerry Schmidt, president, Bernie Wallner as vice president, with the co- operation of Helen Blaski as secre- tary and Ralph Malach as treasurer. Miss Chapman and Mr. Olingy were our advisors. Naturally, the first big thrill we had was our bonfire as it meant we finally took our place in high school activity. Everyone worked terribly hard and the general opin- ion wasthat we turned out a bonfire to be remembered. In 'iff we came back to school with somewhat more confidence than we felt before. As our officers we elected Pat Carey as president, Bob Love as vice president, Jake Camp- bell astreasurer and Jackie Grassel as secretary. Our advisors were Miss Wislinsky and Miss Pendergast. This year our float took first prize. Rosie Weiss and Helen Blaski were riding in state on our float. Then came 'h8, the big year for our class. We put on some very successful salesand a dance tc make money for our Prom. Bob Love was our president, but he left for Yuma Arizona, leaving the class. in the very capablekmmds of Jim Lobermier, vice president. Helen Blaski was secretary and Jake Campbell was treasurer. We chose nHawaiian Sun- setn as the theme of our prom and Ray Hilgartend Helen Blaski reigned as King and Queen in a Hawaiian setting. Nan Haggerty was prom chairman and from all the compli- ments we received she did a very successful job. Our advisors were Miss Frost, Miss Salo, and Mr. Kulidas. Now in 1950 we are finally sen- iors. We chose Red Scherwinski as president to head our small class of 11,5 with the help of Rose Weiss as vice president, Ray Hilgart as treasurer and Sammy Smith as secre- tary. This year we put on the Home- coming dance, after a very success- ful season. Donna Hilgart was chosen Homecoming Queen, with Rose Weiss and Becky Dunn as her court. The dancelud the largest attendence it has ever been. as we had nMiss Wisconsinn crowning our King and Jake Campbell, the football Captain, crowning our Queen.
