“Grease” grabs standing ovations This year Park Center presented “Grease” the hit Broadway musical. Marvin Douglas directed the musical; it was his first at Park Center. The other directors included: Anita Norman, vocal director; Steve Borgstrom, orchestra director; Jeri Erickson, technical director and Lori Blake was the choreographer. These directors along with all of the students involved, made Grease very successful. A lot of newcomers were involved this year. One of these students included sophomore, Catie Hinchey. She played Sandy Dumbrowski along with the male lead Danny Zuko, played by Dave Wood. These two did a splendid job. “All of the students did a great job” replied Marvin Douglas. One of the reasons that this musical was so popular was because it was full of energy. The dancing and singing were well performed. Thanks to Lori and Anita for making those who couldn’t sing and dance, sing and dance! All in all “Grease” was a great success! Everything worked out which even included the set. This year it was completed two weeks ahead of schedule. All of the people who worked hard on Grease, whether in the cast, crew or in the orchestra, did a really great job. “Grease” is the word and will always be remembered at Park Center. 1. Mr. Douglas admires his cast. 2. Mr. Borgstrom and Ms. Norman take a break. 3. Tim .Johnson and Jodi Franz in their normal pose. 5. It seems that Matt Forsgren is getting some heat from the Pink Ladies. 18 Grease
