Exchange Students Experience America Adjusting; ro o differenr language, o different lifestyle, different ideals, and even o different diet! To anyone, that sounds difficult or best Out, imagine the problems you would run across chonging countries ... Even if you chose ro visit this country, it would be very trying Suppose you were ro try and adopt afl your volues and customary ways of doing things and live with rhe natives of this foreign lond for six months or even o year Now. it moy begin ro sound impossible1 For three students currently orrending Pork Center, rhe impossibility is turning into on unforgeroble experience Not ro mention on adventure! They ore Keiko Fujii, lleane Gorcio, and Ricardo Bedrigual from Japan, Mexico, ond Brazil. Keiko first come ro rhe United Stores when she wos 10 years old for o visit ond decided she would like ro study here. So, two months ago, she come bock ro ar-rend Pork Center for six months. The thing she soys she will remember rhe most about her stay os o Pirore is rhe musical ''Carousel'' because of ol rhe hoppy feeings. friends, ond helpful people. This 6 where she feels she leorned most of her Engksh. The two places she reoHy wonts ro see before leaving for home ore New York ond Florida. The food she wfl miss the most will be good old American ice cream! Deane come ro rhe United Stared for one reason primarily,- to learn rhe English longuage becouse she plans to study tourism. When she first arrived in June, she had a very minimal amount of knowledge of our language which seems ro be rhe biggest barrier between us ond these students. Since then, she has become quire fluent and one would hove a hard rime believing she has nor known it for her entire life. This comes from a great deal of effort and study on her port.
