Park Center’s musical production of OKLAHOMA was presented on November 12, 13, 18, 19, 20. Cast and all involved put in many hours of hard work during the nine weeks of rehearsel. Standing ovations became a part of the routine as the play progressed from one performance to the next. The most complicated set in Park Center history was constructed under the supervision of Mr. Michael Hoover. The set featured two rotating wood platforms which were worked on day and night right up until opening night. A small portion of the cast were new to the experience of putting on make-up and this was responsible for enumerable good times ... Pass the cake ... Green eye shadow for the guys? ... Mustaches, sideburns, and the old man’s beard. Ah yes the sacrifices of the theatre. Mr. Edward Anthony and Mr. Terry Nordberg were co-directors for this years play. Assisting the dynamic duo was student director Kim Garrison. This was the first year that Park Center hired a professional choregrapher to work with the cast. Mrs. Karen Saxvik was assisted by Patti Jensen in choreographing the dance scenes, such as; Kansas City, Many a New Day, and the Farmers Dance. Overall, a great experience was had by all involved. The battle between the sexes begins. The guy’s perform “It’s a Scandal! It’s a Outrage!”
