Slyvette and Perci-net are young lovers whose fathers plot to join property by marrying their children. Their feigned mutual hatred creates a Romeo and Juliet atmosphere. All things combine to make the play a lightly comical, slightly satiracal. very enjoyable romance. Park Center entered this play in the one-act district play contest, which is part of competittive speech. The Romancers” took first place in the sub-districts held at Anoka, and Mike Hoover (Percinet) was named best actor by the judges. It can't be said, however, that it was ALL hard work. The dedicated few who put out this book will be left with at least some good memories. The years 72-73 saw the birth ol The Saga ol Kegger. our vocabularies were grossly (really!) improved. We mastered the technique of racing occupied chairs down those empty third floor halls (before the odiferous onslaught ol the trackmen, of course). The Annual Staff Secret Password could be heard after school, time and time again, wafting it's way out of room 320 at least once or twice a night; we also learned a new definition of paganism Towards the end of the year (no. much sooner than that) we began to wonder if it was all worth it. If the answer still eludes us. perhaps when we pick up this book ten or twenty years from now we ll see how important it really is. We hope you will. too.
