Y, ,zvlwf C Y : v X W 1,1 X X 1 We Are All One If you have learned anything practical in our little home PHCS it will, in any case, find some use either now or later. If you have learned one thing by me, then it should have been this one message: We are all one. We are all one, our blood runs its course throughout the races of the world. We are all one, our love reaches out to capture all of humanity. We are all one, the rivers and streams and trees and ground and sky and sun are yours and mine, and they are us. Today, ' I must take some comfort in this message. Saying Good-bye is like drinking sour milk with one hand stuck in a fire. But although I may never see you again, I have faith in the fact that WE ARE ALL ONE. Andi may, some day, come across one person who has felt your love, your warmth, your kindness, your friendship. By that person, I then may touch you once again. For this, I rejoice. You have become a part of me. You have added to my existence, the world asl know it. Whereverl may go, I will take you with me, I have learned from you. For this learning, your open hearts and open minds, I thank you. I won't say, Good-Bye. I'll just say, I love you. Richard I. Biancaniello -M .YY V- V Q4--,A-. ,.,,.-,...,,. ,W H .rw , ,, , 'K -As We're just hanging around. r w' G' X W4 6 2 1 1 wr ns la. I 3 3.435 .xv 85:5 wg. He encloses his ad- miration for his heroes and gods in statues, and temples and mausolea. He even attempts to capture in words the qualities of another man's soul. We are so quick to commemorate our victories and oh, so hesitant to perpetuate our defeats. Yet even these find their ways into stone, and steel and bronze. And then there is no glory in our human fraility. But when an individual leads such a life as to inef- faceably engrave his mark upon the soul and being of his fellow man, he needs no monument that we could ever conceiveg for he has inspired others to say of him: I remember . It is of his presence, and not of his passing that our hearts sing. ' Chuck Tyler We Remember Him .,.. HMI. Tyler Citizenship is a privilege in this great country of ours and its responsi- bilities are inherited by each succeeding generation. It is your responsibility to select a career and seek out educational goals and the skills necessary to compete in society and join the rank of employed high school graduates. George R. Tyler Supervising Principal I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone for a great year, and to extend my sincere wishes to the Class of '73g that they are able to achieve all of their in- dividual goals. Mr. Sullivan i as k g .f 1 Board Of Education Standing: Mt. Covey, Mr. Eakins, Mr. Hinman. Seated: Mr. McKnight, Mr. Fraser, Mr. Keener, Mr. Wilson, Mr. Barton, Mr. Bicknell. Guidance 1 Mr. Cox I am very concerned about the future of our youth. The rapidly changing society that we live in today creates many problems that youth did not face ten years ago. I believe that it is the responsibility of parents and educators to bring themselves up to the times and help close the gap that is so apparent in our society. I feel ifl can remain close to our youth that I will grow with them and be part of their ever changing lives. We have to tackle new problems together. Cur First Yeor The Panthers this year started to play soccer and r many of them found it different than the old style foot- ball. Many boys went out for the squad and the starting spots were always up for anyone who worked hard enough. The Panthers won one of their league games and several of their scrimmages. With a good bench and most of the players coming back next year the Panthers hope to im- prove their winning next year and maybe get a chance at the championship. This year the Parishville Panthers will be aiming for the Playoffs. They play a fast hustling brand of ball and give the fans many exciting moments. The team consists of six seniors and six juniors all having years of experience behind them. This year the Panthers held their First Thanksgiving Tournament. Lafargeville came in first, Knox was second, the Panthers were third, and Colton came in last. Hayes, Mrs. LaGrand, J. Tyler, D. Bisnett, F. Tome, D. Taylor, D. Viau, M. Sheldon, F. Conrad, N. Wisner, K. Daby, S. Thaler, D. Gallagher, S. McKnight, T. McKnight. The 1972-73 girl's basketball team will be entering their second year of competition. This year, for the first time, they will be members of the newly-formed girl's Valley League, a ten-team, two division League. The competition should be keener than ever and should get better still as the level of skill improves. Parishville will have seven girls returning from last year's two and five team. Much will depend on the scor- ing and rebounding of seniors Beth Law, Sue Hayes qlast year's leading scorerp and Donna Wright. Melanie Putnam and Donna Gallagher will handle much of the backcourt chores, while Vickie Bump flast year's MVPj and Teresa McKnight will be counted on heavily under the basket. In addition, there are four promising freshmen and two newcomers to complete the thirteen-member squad. The team is generally lacking in height, but it is hoped that this can be compensated by speed and quick- ness as well as a tight defense. Overall the girls have im- proved tremendously in their basic skills and it is with a guarded optimism that we look forward to the new season. The 1971-'72 girl's softball team completed their season with a 2 and 2 record. The season began with a disappointing, one-sided loss to St. Lawrence Central, but in the second game the girls rebounded with a well- deserved victory over Canton Central School on the loser's field. ln the third game at Parishville, St. Regis Central overpowered the Panthers in a well-played contest. ln the final game of the season, the team once again was on the road, playing at Brushton-Moira. They came home with their best win for the season, with an outstanding performance both in the field and at the plate. Senior graduate Donna Bisnett will be sorely missed next year, as will the other departing seniors Judy Tyler, Sue Thaler, Kathy Daby and Fran Tome. However, there were ten underclassmen on the team which will provide a nucleus for this year's team as well as a very promising Freshmen class from which to choose. ai 5,u,'5HY1lL wcesv, FWW 30' ' Elf 245 fa 1,. 1 aff ,, h,:. ,A,' A f ,L ,V.,VE . if y ,' Quan 13!56'ZZ 4 .5 gif J! ai? The situation: the supporting uncle thinks his favorite nephew is married. Now he's coming to see his new niece, but the nephew isn't married so they have to make up his male house guest to be his wife. A great deal of hard work was put into the play, but it all paid off in the end. The audience enjoyed it very much, and so did the students who participated in it. 'i dm , nf 4g i ,. The Library Club at PHCS sponsored the Cancer Fund for the 1971-1972 Drive. The highlight of the week's ac- l tivities was an athletic night. The main attraction was a 1 basketball game featuring the female faculty members vs. the high school girl's team. Male faculty members served as cheerleaders. The game was preceded by a cake walk i and auction. The evening ended after a soccer game be- tween the high school boy's team and the male faculty. During the week there was a contest between grades K-6. Each room had two high school library club leaders ' who tried to keep their rooms ahead in money collected.
