Far surpassing wealth unspoken Sealed by friendship's tie. Alma Mater, Alma Mater, Deep graven on each heart, Shall be found unwavering true When we from life shall part. High school life at best is passing Gliding swiftly by. We shall pledge in word and deed Our love for Parishville High. Alma Mater, Alma Mater, Deep graven on each heart, Shall be found unwavering true When we from life shall part. Mr. Warren O. Daniels ln dedication of the 1962 PANORAMA, We honor a distinguished elder citizen of Parishville. For most of his 92 years he has dedicated his life in this community serv- ing as teacher, attorney, and statesman. Three generations of Parishville folk have felt his influence among them. We, as representatives of the youth of the Space Age, salute, as representative of the best in our heritage, our friend, Mr. Warren O. Daniels. A student of the first school in Parishville, Mr, Daniels, later graduated from Potsdam Normal in 1893 and taught in Ossening, then in Nichoville in 1898. He was ad- mitted to the bar in 1899 and has served the people of this area in that distinction for over half a century. From 1934 to 1940 he served as our New York State Assemblyman. Mr. Daniels was supervisor of the town of Parishville for 16 years and chairman of the board of directors and Vice-President of the Peoples' Bank of Potsdam. He was active in bringing Dr, Max Thaler to our town, Mr. Daniels is a dedicated member of the Parishville Union Church, several his- torical associations, and a member of the Masonic Lodge, with which he has served for 60 years. The name of Warren O, Daniels will live in our hearts and minds. We dedicate this book to him as a well deserved tribute to a lasting reminder of his contribution to the life of our community. H. C, S. Although our class' size has increased to twenty-three, only Larry Goodrich, Roger Hart, Joan Moses, Terry Hotaling, Janet Groeb- ler and Ilah Bradish were the original members of this group. As the population of our town increased greatly, so did our class. Phillip Benton was the first to join our group in the first grade. In the second grade, Ed Matthews from Potsdam joined our little troop. Robert Meashaw from Par- ishville Center School and Robert Wickwire from Potsdam came to us in the third grade. Following the fourth grade was Thomas Swift from High Flats. In the fifth grade Gary Butterfield from Stockholm School, Paul Kelley from West Parishville and ,Fred Gary from Stocholm School joined us. It wasn't until the seventh grade that Rose Tuper, from Colton, Thomas Ma Cumber, Laura Powell, Linda Converse, Bert Rosenbarker, Vance Eakins, and Mack Parker, all from Hopkinton entered our class. It was in the ninth grade that Carol Jones from Potsdam and Pat Gee, from Painted Post High School joined to complete our class. As we progressed through the halls of learning our activities broadened. Our first major accomplishment was our Eight Grade Graduation under the supervision of Mrs. Flora Miller. ln the ninth grade we sponsored a dance in April. In our Sophomore year we held two dances which were in October and March. Our big money making project was the selling of sweat shirts. In May we ordered our class rings. In September of our Junior year there was a Student Council Campaign. Janet Groebler won the election over the Senior candidate. In October we received our class rings. We held dances, sold School Daze, Christmas paper, cards and chances on a radio. In May we sponsored a car wash and food sale. Our two biggest projects were the Junior Jamboree and the Junior Prom. Our Senior year has proven to be the most active. We held a magazine drive in which Vance Eakins sold the most magazines. We held dances, movies and a turkey raffle. We sponsored a banquet for the Teachers' Association and a donkey basketball game. Our play, LOCK, STOCK, AND LIPSTICK, proved to be a great success. Our Junior-Senior Ball will be our last activity and at present we are all looking forward to our Washington trip. It is my sincere Wish that each of you succeed in whatever field you choose to enter. Since rely, WRS Q1111 Cyglicnl Mrs. O'Brien .ww-e,,Am , N. -4 l93O Y ou r commencement exercises in June of 1962 marks the end of your unity as a senior Class, as well as the completion of your own high school education. The Word Commencement, how- ever, denotes a beginning. It will be the beginning of a new life for you. Sincere Wishes for success to each of you in your new ventures. Sincerely, Mrs. Earle lt is with pleasure that I take this opportunity to write a few words to you, the students of Parishville-Hopkinton Central School. To you students who are terminating your first step in the educational process may you find success and prosperity in whatever you endeavor to do, To those of you who are remaining with us until you graduate from high school, may you have the foresight to prepare yourselves to the best of your ability. This may be done by using, to the utmost, the facilities available, whether it be completing your assigned work, asking the teacher for that extra help that would make the difference as to your un- derstanding of the subject, using the guidance office and the materials that are there for you to use, and above all, ask questions if there is something you don't understand. Remember that it is up to you to live up to your state motto in education---and that is, Let each become all that he is capable of being . Q, ,afmwa Ray Harrington. WHERE THERE'S A WILL, THERE'S A WAY. To the Class of 1962: You are rapidly approaching the end of a very important milestone in life. The past four years have been, l'm sure, most enjoyable. They have also been most important in building a foundation to prepare you to meet more adequately the many complex challenges which lie ahead. The efforts of your parents, your teachers and most important your own ef- forts will now begin to show how well you have applied the opportunities made available to you. We live in a highly competitive society and in a nation which has become the leader and it is because of it's ability to educate its youth. To those of you who will pursue your education further, may I ex- tend a sincere wish for your continued success. Remember that worth- while goals in life are not achieved without determined efforts. To those of you who plan to seek employment it would be well to remember that employers are not interested in excuses but rather results. Always strive to improve your efforts. May the years ahead bring only the very best for each of you. ,X ' Q My - William Pelotte KING -- Gary Butterfield QUEEN -- Linda McCaS1and PRINCE -- Robert Wickwire PRINCESS -- Rose Tuper X CLASSES 4 .., ROW ONE: V.
