the class HISTORY OF I960 Our graduating class of 1960 embarked upon its voyage in 1947. Of the thirty-two in the group, nineteen set sail in the Parish- ville-Hopkinton Central School District. Norman Hoyt, Carlton Johnson, Arthur McRobbie, Dorothy Corbin, Arlene Groebler, Shirley Kingsley, Margaret Robideau, Sharan Hart, Ruth Bradish, and Thomas Wilson started in Parishville, while Cecile Daby and Jennifer Costa joined the crew from Hopkin- ton. Roger Cook, Byron Meashaw, and Carol Strader began the voyage at Parishville Cen- ter. Lucetta DeCarr and Renace LaPoint sailed from West Parishville. Jane Swift set out from High Flats and Carol Mott started from Severton School. Gay Gunning and Jean Wickwire came to us in the fifth grade from Potsdam. Mary Jane Crump joined us in the sixth grade. In the- seventh grade we welcomed Penny Unz, Vir- ginia Hubbard, and Judy Villnave. Danny Con- ger entered the crew in the eighth grade. In ninth grade, Veronica LaBar and Daryl An- thony joined us. Kay Gee joined us in the tenth grade and Bob Drake and Doug O’Conner came aboard in the eleventh grade. Some of our friends who stopped off in other ports since seventh grade are as fol- lows: John Bartlett, Jackie Deere, Danforth Peacock, Lawrence Peck, George Thompson, Roger Vice, Helen Marie Bartlett, Pauline Peary, Mary Randall, Violet Tupper, Con- stance Fuller, James Adner, Dennis Burnett, Jay Curry, Ronald Gilbert, Rowen Malbone, Harry Puryer, Elbridge Randall, Elmer Richards, Lawrence Snickles, Lowell Sochia, Louis Wilson, Lloyd Wilson, Paul Crotty, Paula Boulds, Nancy Kent, Mary Alice La- Clair, Ellen Peacock, Rita Sochia, Delcena Cota, David Conger, Gene Malette, Henry Hart, Edith Fredericks, Agnes Lewin, Weston Ellis, Shirley Barnes, Sue Arquette, Sherry Campbell, Lila Frank, Louise Frank, Flor- ence Wilmont, and Shirley Harris. Former members of the class of 1960 who are now married are: Pauline Peary, Margaret Rabideau, Penny Unz, Mary Alice LaClair, Agnes Lewin, Violet Tupper, Con- stance Fuller, Ellen Peacock, Florence Wil- mont, Rita Sochia, Edith Fredericks, James Adner, and Louie Wilson. Our seventh and eighth grade activities were limited--we didn’t do anything. In the ninth grade we had a Thanksgiving Dance with Mr. Badger providing the music. We also had a dance in June of that year. We had one dance in March of our tenth year. Also, during tenth year, we ordered our class rings. Our junior year was much more suc- cessful financially than the previous years. We had two dances, one in November and one in March. We received our class rings in November. Chances were sold on cakes at the basketball games during the season. Val- entines were sold in the halls the week before Valentine’s Day. At the Science Fair in April, our class sold refreshments. Our biggest pro- fit, however, came from the auction held in May. Also in May we had the Junior Senior Prom. This year has been rather busy thus far. Candy sales are booming and note paper with a picture of the school on it is being sold. A dance was held in October. We sold magazines, Arlene Groebler being top saleslady. Another successful event was the Donkey Basketball game in October. Dances after ball games, and refreshment sales at ball games, added to our growing treasury. Christmas card sales helped us still more. Our senior play, SIX STITCHES FOR EGO, was received so overwhelmingly by the public that a second presentation was given. Plans are in progress for our Senior Ball to be held February 20,1960, with Joe Calipari’s orchestra providing the music. As the yearbook goes to press, New York is our next stop.
