The Parishville-Hopkinton Student Council was the host for the Northern New York Student Council Federation. We are also planning to attend a spring meeting which is to be held in Gouverneur. The council sponsered the Halloween and the Christmas parties and also held a dance for the benefits of the Sevey family when their home was destroyed by fire. I I I O 0 O l 1 O I HIGH SCHDUL ASSEMBLIES The first program from the School Assembly Service was on September 20 Mr Glenn Morris presented one on science and electricity Some of the students, Ellen Thaler, Norman Hoyt Eddie Bump, Danny Peacock, Josepn Rushlaw, and others, found things were a little hot to handle when they served as assistants In October, Miss Shirley Duncan told students about her trip on a bicycle around Australia The trip was 10,000 miles long, and took her two years, but it was a very wonderful experience She told of the vastness of Australia and its strange animals Then she explained how young people can travel safely and cheaply in Europe by using the hostels students spellbound with the amount of milk poured from a pitcher and the numerous articles he took out of a small trunk Jeanne Daniels was fascinated with his equipment when she helped him behind the scenes Mr Soloman Card gave a very interesting talk on the United Nations and Mr Pelotte helped him with the colored slides of the United Nations buildings in New York There was a showing of the first act of the senior play, NMidnight , to give the cast a little stage experience and to advertise the play Throughout the basketball season, short pep assemblies were held on the days when the teams played at home Compliments of S R FLEMINGS CO 52 Market Street Tel 2966 Potsdam, New York O . , On December 2, Mr. C.
