fill 61,00 5 J5age I would address this message to the entire student body, but particularly to the members of th1s year' graduating class we are living in an age when individualism is in danger of being smothered under a blanket of conformity Perhaps, to some extent, this is necessary in a complex industrial society, however, the very foundation stone of democracy is a deep abiding faith in the dignity and worth of the individual Our country's greatness was the result of the care of our forefathers to see that honest individualism was not stifled Today it is often easier to conform rather than stand out we are t o often willing to be classified with the naveragen In all matters that do not violate the laws of God and of our country, do not be afraid to assert yourselves and to count as individuals. The keystone of an arch is an individual stone different in shape from all the other stones of the structure, yet without this keystone the ability of the arch to stand is lessened. Without individuals who are willing to stand out and be counted in all things that are true and honest, just and pure, the stability of society is weakened. Do not let your fear of not being naveragen prevent you from giv- ing all that is within you to give. Charles E. Turcotte Supervising Principal , ,jT t Y A ' 'ix , Xp as .f W A . ff V n' , 19. . f, .
