DEDICATION In 1963 Paris High School was fortunate to acquire Miss Juanita Sutherland, a native of Anderson County, as mathmematics instructor. Throughout the years, she has continually received the respect, love, and admiration of her students, while the students themselves have gained superior education in the field of mathematics through her teachings. Miss Sutherland’s students feel free to discuss any problem with her because she is willing to give them her time whether the problem is proving triangles congruent or finding an escort to the prom. Miss Sutherland is also devoted to supporting sports activities at Paris High. She can always be found yelling and cheering zealously for her team. This teacher has difinitely contributed to the lives of students at Paris High; she has shown in many ways that she cares for them. For this reason, the Annual Staff of 1978 dedicates this yearbook to Miss Juanita Sutherland. 5

IN MEMORIAM 1 On September 24. 1977, Paris High School lost a friend and boardmember in Mr. Donald Wells. Although he served a very short term as a member of the Paris City Board of Education after having taken office in January. 1977, he was a dynamic and faithful member. He has contributed greatly to our school and our community. Among other things, he was a member of the Rotary Club. Masonic Lodge, on the board of directors of the Stoner Creek Country Club, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church. We shall never forget Mr. Donald Wells and his devoted dedication to serving the needs of the students in the Paris School System. Fast as the rolling seasons bring The hour of fate to those we love, Each pearl that leaves the broken string Is set in Friendship's crown above. As narrower grows the earthly chain. The Circle widens in the sky; These are our treasures that remain. But those are stars that beam on high. O. W. Holmes, F.W.C. (Frederick W. Crocker) 4
