Hounds on their way to the State Championship Five years of determination, pride, and dedication can vividly be seen in the face of Head Coach Homer Goins. The thrill of victory is easily seen in this picture of Coach Goins and the Greyhounds, taken after the Todd County Central game. After a slow first half, the Greyhounds exploded in the second half and defeated Todd County 34-20. With this victory the Greyhounds won the right to make the dream of a state championship a reality. And this dream did become a reality with a 21-12 victory over Elkorn City. The years of blood, sweat, and tears paid off and the Greyhounds are STATE CHAMPIONS! 7

I remember the actions and expressions of the On a drizzly November af- ternoon, the Paris Greyhounds met the Elkhorn City Cougars to determine the Class A State Championship. Fans, cheer- leaders and referees donned raincoats, hats, and umbrellas to withstand the falling rain. Despite the rain, the Hounds dominated the first half, up 21-0 at half-time. Withstand- ing an Elkhorn City comeback, the Hounds emerged from Hanger Stadium the 1973 Class A State Shampions. 6
