Paulette Tate Sandra Jordan Activities Editors.................................. Irene Zuniga Monica Barnes The Paris High Newspaper Staff is composed of Juniors and Seniors. There is a Senior editor and a Junior editor. This is done in order that the Juniors will gain ex- perience in management and be able to take over in the Senior editor's place the next year. The HI-LITES this year consisted of the major news of the school. There were monthly articles about the various clubs and their activities, information on the sports events, and special features on the different departments. One special attraction which especially interested all Seniors was the review on the college of the month. The newspaper is a non-profit organization and is self-supporting. This means that the supplies used by the staff are bought by the newspaper. The PARIS HI-LITES has been one of the most enjoyable and beneficial assets to the students and faculty this year. Drill Team The Paris High Drill Team, an organization formed in 1962, is composed entirely of girls from the high school. Tire girls are chosen after trying out before judges. This year there were twelve regulars and two alternates. The sponsor and Drill Team director was Miss Millie Ryles, who is the Paris gym teacher for the elementary grades. This group of girls worked out precisioned patterns of marching. They performed at several of the basketball games and were in parades on various occasions. The purpose of the Drill Team is to promote group co-operation. They practiced on their own time and their policy was hard work. The girls in the organization benefited from their practices as well as their fine performances. 21
