Through- out the years she has dedicated herself to work with the Seniors in producing the Annual. Her wisdom, knowledge, and effort is seldom recognized by the readers of the Annual. We dedicate this Annual to her with the hope that more people than the Seniors will r ecognize how in- strumental she is in producing the Annual. As was said by A. B. Alcott, “A work of merit finds favor at last.” TRIBUTE We, the Senior class of 1963, wish to pay this tribute to Miss Zerelda Noland. Through her continuous work and efforts she has contributed much to the lives of her students. It is with great respect and admiration that we pay her this honor. Education is a debt due from the present generation to future generations. --George Peabody — ADMINISTRATION OF 1962-63 MR. LAWRENCE STAMPER Social Studies MISS ZERELDA NOLAND English MR. Iron and steel, and hickory trees, Frowns and gripes, from 8:00 to 3:00. You teach six full hours and what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt. You pay your dues in this and that, Then for 24 hours your billfold is flat. I was born one morning when it was cloudy and cool. I picked up my register and headed for school. I wrote 84 names on the homeroom roll, And the principal said Well bless my soul ! The last bell rings and I start for the door, My heads a—ringing and my feet are sore, I taught six full hours, my day is made-- But I still have 300 papers to grade! You teach six full hours and what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt. I’d go to St. Peter, but I just can't stay, I gotta come back to the P.T.A.! ANNUAL STAFF CO-EDITORS—Marietta Copeland and Chester Kendall. FACULTY ADVISOR—Mrs. Louise Clay. SALES STAFF SENI0R5 In 1951 there was begun The fated journey of everyone. We were to spend twelve years at school To learn reading, writing, and the Golden Rule. The teachers did their very best But we were just like all the rest, We'd rather sing and laugh and play, Than sit and study all the day. Up through the grades we came so fast. What was our future is now our past. The words and deeds we've left behind, We hope will serve to better mankind. So just remember Senior friend That this is not the bitter end. Do not resort to tears of woe Because your school days are no more. You've run the race and passed the test, Now live your life and do your best. Remember your duty to God and Man; Now, choose your Fate and take your stand.
