Another year has gone too fast For the 1960 Freshman class. Our two cheerleaders, sweet as pie, Were Glenda Harney and Brenda Guy. And strange as it may seem, We had two boys make the varsity basketball team. We had two representatives at State Speech. For that, we thank Mrs. Todd, our English teach. Three freshmen made the N. F. L. In speech and sports, we excel. So we end this year with gloomy tears Because we’ve had fun these past three years. And as we tell our Junior Hi good-bye, We warn you! beware Senior High! Not in picture . . . J. B. Eads, Charles Frederick, Ralph Shelley, Steve Wills, Lafayette Gant, Mary Taylor Jordan. Class Prophecy MISS BETSY MC KINIVAN has just accepted a position on the Paris High School faculty to replace Miss Isgrig, who just retired to her cattle ranch in Texas. After graduating from college, Betsy studied for several hours a day in the laboratory to observe her teaching techniques, so that nothing would be changed after Miss Isgrig left. Right after school was out our Senior Year CAROLE SUMPTER and JOHN MER- RINGER got married. John joined the Navy and Carole went with him to become a Navy nurse. She must have been a pretty good nursemaid, because they now have 6 little plumbers that wear size 12 shoes. She hasn’t completely given up her ambition to be an X-ray technician, because she now helps John find sewer breaks. MISS AUDREY MARSHALL, former associate with the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company has just been honored as the outstanding literary critic of the year. She got most of her practice with Miss Noland back during high school. MR. JIMMY WIGGLESWORTH, prominent Bourbon County farmer, has just re- turned from a Farm Bureau convention in Chicago. He was accompanied by his wife, Violet, and all their little flowers. MISS LINDA BIDDLE, after 6 marriages, has become so disgusted with men that she has pur- chased the old Cpera House and converted it into “Mrs. Paddy’s Spinster Home.’’ She could never find the right man after her love affair in Florida her Senior year. MR. RALPH CARPENTER, famous beauty parlor operator, has become very rich with his new methods of dyeing and bleaching the hair. He got his start in high school when he practiced on his own hair. Since he is bald now, he only uses Brylcreem. “A little dab does him.” MISSES MARY NELL MOSS and PEGGY CLIFFORD have just opened their new beauty shop in Paris, the True-Kennon Salon. Now you know why Johnny has such curly hair. Peggy got her exper- ience practicing on him. The only means of escape for J. C. is his flat-top. MR. J. B. EADS has just been fired from his job as manager of the Studebaker Corporation. He lost his job when it was learned that he had a secret love for ‘55 Chevy convertibles. He now works for C C where he has a different color ‘55 Chevy convertible for every day in the week. We have just received a card from two former Paris High basketball players--CHARLES FREDERICK and GAREY JEFFERSON. They are in Rome for the Olympics, where Garey is the coach of the United States Olympic Basketball Team and Charlie is their star player. RONALD DEAN FREDERICK has just received a special award from the Associated Press for his out- standing work in Sports Writing. He got his start while in high school where he worked for the Kentuckian Citizen. MR. DONALD HINES, former president of the Senior Class at Paris High has just been appointed Chief Justice. He secured this position because of his patriotic color scheme, red hair, white teeth, and blue eyes. MR. DONALD SMITH is the new stage manager at the Taft Theater in Cincinnati. He quit his job as stage manager in charge of lighting at P. H. S. after the Senior play. He vowed never to have any- thing to do with stage lighting again. LT. COLONEL RALPH SHELLEY has just been awarded the Medal of Honor for his outstanding service in the U. S. Army. When Ralph came back to school his Senior year after serving in the Army, he decided he couldn’t do without it and re-enlisted right after graduation. The famous Hollywood star, MISS BONNIE ADAIR has returned to Paris for a visit with her family. After her- outstanding performance as Miss Willie in the Senior play and her tearful scenes at Graduation exercies, a talent scout signed Bonnie to a thirty-year contract. The famous artist, KENNETH LAWSON, formerly of Paris, has been getting his name in quite a few New York gossip columns lately. Kenneth's playboy tactics have shocked even the glitter city of New York. We wonder if he got his practice on the sly at P. H. S. MISS PATRICIA GARRISON has accepted a position as secretary to Mr. Traylor, after the retire- ment of Mrs. Watson. Mr. Traylor says that Pat is an excellent secretary except that she jumps up and looks out the window every time a blue ‘52 Chevrolet goes by. MR. BELLY GOUGH has just been named “The Year's Most Eligible Bachelor” by Esquire Magazine. In high school, “Casanova” Gough, as he was known, continually kept the girls in a state of wonder by his elusive nature. Mrs. Jerry McFarland, the former MISS LINDA HADDIX, has been named the “Army Wife of the Year.” Linda traveled with her hus- band everywhere. First to Germany and later when the Army sent Jerry on their rocket to the moon, his first words upon returning to the Earth were: “I couldn’t have done it without the little woman.” MISS RUTH SMART, one time favorite of Miss Noland at P. H. S. is now traveling in Europe with Mr. Mrs. Stephen Rockefeller as governess for their four little girls. She has just published a book on her exper- iences as a governess entitled, “Babysitting Begins at Home.” Mrs. Harry See, Jr., the former MISS BONNIE VICKERS, and her husband have become quite famous in the musical world. He has his own band and she is the vocalist. They also have their own T. V. show on the See V Network! They replace Louis Prima and Kelley Smith. REAR ADMIRAL JEFF BELL of the U. S. Navy missing 10 years since he enlisted in the Navy, has just been found in a Russian Concentration camp. He sees no future in coming back because he has such a thriving business in the camp with his “Comrad Queen,” which in America is popularly known as the “Dairy Queen.” MR. LARRY MCFARLAND after graduating from M. L T., was hired by the Bourbon County Court House to turn the floodlights on and off every night. On the side, he operates the beacon light on the big orange water tower on the Winchester Road. The former MISS PATTIE INSKO has just been named “Athletic Mother of the Year,” since her fine sons, Rodger, Garey, Hunter, Benny, and Bobby Ray make up the 1st String basketball team at U. K. We’ll let you guess which son is called Junior. The former MISS PATTIE WHITE has just been approved House Mother for the KA Fraternity at the University of Kentucky. After graduating from U. K. magna cum laude, she missed it so much she just had to come back. But she still plans to send her son, John Thomas to Princeton. MISS JANICE ALLEN has won her 8th Kentucky Derby and is still the world’s only lady racehorse jockey. Her fame is due to the fact that because she is so light, her horses aren’t aware that they have a mount. Her latest winners are “Headache” and “Ferti- lizer” (he does other work on the side). After playing on the Paris High Golf Team during their Senior year, STEVE WILLS and BILLY MIZELL decided to open their own Golf Club. Now they own a chain of miniature golf courses called the Wills-Mizell Stop and Putt. MISS MARGARET MILLER WARD has just given up her career as a model in New York City to marry Claiborn Farm’s jockey, whom she met at a New York Race Track. Her new address is Stall No. 1, Hialeah. MR. RALPH HUMPHREY now operates a garage on Main Street. As Ralph was always interested in cars, he has now invented one of his own, and named it the “Rhoda-Runner” and uses “Smart Parts” in it. MISSES PATSY ORMES and BRENDA ARNOLD are now co-managers of the Southern Bell Office of Paris. Patsy is the head accountant in charge of office work, and Brenda is chief operator. After graduating from the University of Kentucky, MISS BONNIE FLORENCE accepted a position as educational director at the Methodist Church at Paris. She is very happy with her job and is engaged to the professor of history at the University of Kentucky, a former Paris High Student. MISS JOAN SANTEN and BEVERLY JORDAN and JUDY MASTIN are now appearing in Carnegie Hall, where they are presenting a musical program. Beverly and Judy are the vocalists and Joan is their accompanist. On the side they are launching a campaign against smoking at slumber parties. Because he had so many love troubles during his senior year, R. LAYTART joined the Foreign Legion after graduation. We hear they are sending him back because he had all the comies wearing duck-tail hair cuts. Mrs. Norman Weekley, the former MISS PHYLLIS ROE, is visiting her parents here. She was accompanied from their home in Akron, Ohio by her son and daughter, Dailey and Yearly. MISSES CAROL MORGAN, PEGGY LONG, and KATHERINE HARRELL have just returned from a 10-year tour of Europe. For some strange reason they left directly after they donated a sterling silver ash tray to the rest room at Paris High. After graduating from high school, MISS CARROLL BALDWIN furthered her dramatic career by acting on Broadway—in New York—. She decided that acting wasn’t what she wanted and reverted from East to West to raise cattle. She is now a successful owner of a chain of ranches which she bought on the “Long Range Plan.” Senior Speakeasy Comp 1 i merits of BOURBON AGRICULTURAL BANK AND TRUST COMPANY Compli ments of HANSLEY MILLS A Good Place to Work Comp 1i ments of HINKLE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY Paris Kentucky COLONIAL MILK PRODUCTS COMPANY Pasteurized Grade A Milk Homogenized Milk Cream Cottage Cheese We Deliver Main at 8th Curb Service Phone 1226 Comp 1i ment s of Comp 1i ments of NATIONAL The Manager BANK § TRUST CO.
