Ross Alsup reads a resolution presented to the Pans Independent School District. On the previous evening during the half- time game between the Wildcats and Idabel, the Wildcats of the past, from 1919 to 1980, were honored. Mr. Clyde Antome received applause as the oldest living member of a Wildcat team — the team of 1919. Several decades were represented with former athletes, cheerleaders, coaches, and students enjoying the festivities. The Centennial organizing committee was chaired by Debbie Burks, a Justiss Elemen- tary School teacher. Also serving on the committee were Mattie Belle Rast, Kathrvne Crook, Clarice Holt, Martha Dennis, Dr. Beth Fouse, Elaine Ballard, and Loren Stephens. Mr. Paul Trull and his wife. CENTENNIAL CEREMONIES Nineteen eighty-four — a year to celebrate the 100th birthday of Paris Public Schools. On Saturday, September 15, 1984, teachers, administrators, friends, and students gathered at 2 o-clock at the First United Methodist Church. Teachers who had served our school system for more than twenty-five years were recognized. Mr. Ross Alsup, chairman of the Board of Regents at Paris Junior College presented a resolution to Mr. John Wright, current President of the School Board. The afternoon ceremonies concluded with the unveiling of the historical marker placed on the new Liberty National Bank property, the site of Paris High from the 1850s to the mid 1970 ' s. Mr. Dee Cunningham and Mr. Philip Cecil have lust unveiled the historical marker located on the corner of .W Lamar Avenue. 4 Opening

CELEBRATE Spirit Old Glory, the National Anthem, and Loyal and True are all symbols of school spirit. For one hundred years students have backed this school with their participation and attendance. However, time has brought change. In 1959 Pam Redus was a flag-bearer for the Blue Blazes Band. In 1984, Wildcat mascot Jennifer Simmons presents the school flag to the student body 6 School Spirit
