Tbere are fifty-tour and one-balf affiliated credits in tlie curriculum of our sctiool. lncluded in tbese credits is most any subject tbat is needed to fulfill tbe requirements for selecting tbe num- erous vocations desired by tbe students. Four years of English are required before a pupil is graduated from our scbool. Half of tlie semester is devoted to literature, and balf, to grammar, written and oral composition is also included in tbis course. For tbeir cboice tbe students bave four years of Latin, two years of German, and two years ot Spanisll. lncluded in our science department are general science, biology, cbemistry, pbysics, and aero- nautics, tlie latter being a new subject offered for boys. Tbe required subjects wbicb compose our matbematics department are general matbematics, algebra, and plane geometry for the first tbree years respectively. A balf-year of trigonometry, a balt- year of solid geometry, and a wbole year of senior algebra are tbe students, electives. Each year the matli department gives awards to tbe students baving an average of ninety-five or above and no grade below ninety. A felt letter is given tbe first yearg a bronze letter, tbe second yearg a silver letter, tbe tbird yearg and a gold letter, tbe fourtli year. Our social science department is made up of numerous subjects, sucb as early European bistory, American bistory, Texas bistory, civics, and economics. Two years of bistory are required, includ- ing American liistory and one elective. To ttiose interested in business administration a varied course is offered, including typing, sten- ograpliy, general business training, and boolclreeping. A wide variety of courses are available in the industrial arts department. Tbese include liberal arts, mectxanical drawing, manual training, and laboratory of industries. The speeclx department gives its members practical experience in tbe interpreting and producing of outstanding playsg it also promotes interest in tbe dramatic activities of the scbool. Anotber new course in tlie curriculum of our scbool is Bible, wbicb is taugbt by ttle vari- ous ministers of our city. Vocational agriculture is not only useful but also interesting to tbe boys wbo wisli to study tbe various pbases of modern farming. ln our foods and clotbing classes tbe future bomemalcers are given ttie very best training possible. Composing our music department are tbe band, Clioral Club, and orcliestra. Eacb gives the student a full credit for every year wbicb be bas participated. The ptrysical education instructors bave added to tlie curriculum of our scbool by planning a well-rounded atbletic program for botti girls and boys. Tbus you see tlie numerous subjects studied by tbe students of Paris Higli Scliool to aid tliem in wbatever vocation ttxey may cbooseg bowever, tbese subjects would mean little to tbe pupils if it were not for tbe competent faculty members provided by tbe scbool board.
