FRENCH CLUB Le Cercte Francais, sponsored hy Miss Christine Cootshy. is composed of fifty memhers. At the heginning of the year the program for the entire school year was ptanned, and as a novel idea the sponsor placed in charge of every program one second year student who was responsihte for the suc- cess of the program. The purpose of the ctuh was to increase the studentas knowledge of the French people-their customs and their country. As there was numerous talent in the ctuh, each meeting was welt supplied with amusement other than the educational part: of the program. Betty Proctc. ,lane Amis, Jack Cook, Ntona Jean Vanderpoot, and others gave piano solos. Violin selections hy hoth Betty .iayne Hancock and Maggie Jo Nohte were given during the year, and Jean Dunagan and Lorraine Kinney, two chant- eusesn of the ctuh, singing in hoth French and English, favored the memhers with songs on many of the programs. Ar Christmas Miss Gootshy gave the ctuh a party at her home. A few days hetore Christ- mas the ctuh, cooperating with the German Club, presented an interesting chapel program, including French songs and tattas ahout French customs. On Aprit Fifth a masquerade with invited guests was given.
