At the time, I thought the amount of work was horrendous, but when I got to college, I was really glad I had had the class, said one former student about Mrs. Kloker's Anatomy class. Yes, the work was hard, but students for many vears have thanked Mrs. kloker for her methods of preparing them for future science classes. Mrs. Lois Kloker, who has taught Biology and Anatomy at PHS Tor many years, retired at the end of this year. Mrs. Kloker still loves teaching; she just has other things she would like to do. An avid fan and participant for Special Olympics, Mrs. Kloker will continue to work with them. Also, academic achievement has always been one of Mrs. Kloker's priorities. At PHS she worked closely with National Honor Society, and personally, she has taken many graduate classes to further her own knowledge. Retirement is not exactly the right word for Mrs. Kloker’s future. She plans to do much more than retire. As the pictures show, she is very active, and her daughters and grandchildren will also keep her busy. 8 Introduction

Mr. Sabens welcomes the students of PHS into his office. Students and teachers had the pleasure of getting to know Alexandra Camargo. an exchange student from Brazil. The ice storm left Paris with ice % of an inch thick on trees not to mention the electrical lines which left many homes without power. Smoke was seen for miles when JR auto repair was going up in flames. Mr. Sperry Monty Raley, and Bruce Frost look over a formal invitation to play in the 1989 Orange Bowl Parade. Sam McGovern, new superintendent of schools, signs his contract as Monty Raley looks on. Community Events 7

Those Who Love Teaching Teach Those Who Love Learning Mrs. Helen (Bunny) Bibo will also be absent from PHS next year. Like Mrs. Kloker, Mrs. Bibo certainly does not plan to just sit back and let life go by. Spending more time with her daughters and grandchildren — pictured with her on this page — will occupy part of her time. Also, Mr. and Mrs. Bibo plan to travel in the next few years. While teaching here at PHS, Mrs. Bibo has had her share of bizarre things happen to her. One of her most lasting memories is of walking into her room after the school day ended to see a complete stranger yanking books off of the shelves and vandalizing the room. The stranger had walked into the building and randomly picked Mrs. Bibo’s room to assault. Mrs. Bibo says she won't miss the day-to-day grind of teaching, but she will miss the students; they are, of course, the reason she taught. Introduction 9
