“I am proud to be a part of the Paris school system!” Together We Can! the theme adopted for the 1984-85 Arena was created by Larry Leonard, the superintendent of District 95. Mr. Leonard moved to Paris this year because he liked the size of Paris and its school district. His wife is a special education teacher and is presently employed by the Human Resource Center. Mr. Leonard feels that school is an organiztion of people and that those people must be respected. Also, Mr. Leonard wants the students to feel at home in school and to learn to the maximum of their ability. Increased academic achievement is one goal that Mr. Leonard would like to see accomplished. Spreading the feeling of togetherness also constitutes Mr. Leonard's personal philosophy because he repeatedly stated, I am proud to be a part of the Paris school system! Faculty — Friendly Faces at PHS English I, P.E., and coaching keep Mr. Ackerman busy. Librarian Lois Addis is also in charge of all P.H.S. media equipment besides keeping an orderly library. All French students keep Miss Anderson on her toes year round. Geometry and Computer Math students keep Mr. Aydt in a mathematical mood. Mrs. Badertscher keeps students' schedules straight, and helps seniors get to college from the Guidance office. Mrs. Bibo is kept on her toes by sophomores and juniors studying grammar and vocabulary words. Mrs. Brock not only helps her Business students during class, but also assists them in finding jobs. Need the latest current events? Ask Mrs. Brown who teaches Social Studies and Contemporary Problems. Behind the microscope or behind a golf club, Mr. Bruner is always busy teaching Biology or Golf. Mr. Cheatham who not only teaches all four years of Math, heads the Bible Club and National Honor Society. Teaching Speech, Writing, and Arena keeps Mrs. Cockcroft busy answering tons of questions. Hablo yo Espanol? Mrs. Comingore does and teaches Spanish muy bueno. Mrs. Culler keeps her time filled with being an instructor of Learning Disabilities. Working with tools is Mr. Day's specialty since he teaches Industrial Arts. Mr. Doris, our Physics teacher, can often be seen figur ing such things as velocity, time, and rate. A familiar face at PHS, Mrs. Dosch teaches EMH. An avid ISG fan, Mrs. Douglas teaches Junior English. Spanish Club and Spanish students are always busy with activities under the watchful eye of M 'ss Earlywine. Mrs. Elliot is very involved in school activities, as well as teaching Freshman English. Mrs. Fern, a new face at PHS, teaches Spanish I. a Mrs. Douglas waves hello to everyone during the annual open house. b.
