Kurt Sanderson and Joe Pease 4 April Bortz and Vicki Rowe 5. Marc Schultz 5 Band Night Marching Band began its season with the Homecoming halftime show. Southern show tunes was the theme as the band led by Ma- jorette Jenni Manthey took the field. A second show later in the season had to be cancelled due to heavy rain. Dance Little Bird, more com- monly known as the ''Chicken Dance was the Pep Band's most popular new number. Cheer- leaders and fans both young and old joined in the fun. Those Were The Days and Bandland Boo- gie were among other new Pep Band numbers. By coincidence Band Night was also Summer-in- 4 'Wows'Crowd January Night . At halftime band members took the floor attired in sun glasses and Hawaiian shirts and shorts. Concert Band made its debut at the Winter Concert. Concert selec- tions included: Fanfare On A Bell Carol Christmas Portrait, Symphonic Prelude On Adeste Fi- delis, and Christmas Festival. Mike Pufahl, Corby Neef, Joe Pease, Jenni Manthey, Laura Deweese, and Lori Griepentrog at- tended All-Conference Band. Twenty band members participat- ed in the Spring Solo Ensemble Contest. 27
