FACULTY Student Assistance Program Begins Alcohol is the number one drug problem today. As a matter of fact, one out of every four children is affected by alcoholism in one way or another. Pardeeville High School has tak- en steps to deal with this problem. The school district has formulated an alcohol and other drug aware- ness core group, better known as A.O.D.A. This core group is made up of fourteen staff members and eight community volunteers. These peo- ple have undergone over fifty hours of training in order to deal with students who are directly or indirectly involved with alcoholism or chemical dependency. The staff members participating are: Sonya Buzzell, Mark Manne- bach, Ken Youra, Phil Trahms, Larry Flynn, Judy Skaar, Barry Pu- fahl, Rick Maass, Ginny Harmon, June Lenz, Pat Green, Ronna Do- bratz, Nancy Carr, and Paul Ulrich. To pay for this program Pardee- ville High School was given a grant by the Department of Public In- struction in the amount of $22,227. Along with twelve other districts funded in 1985-1986, Par- deeville High School will serve as a model for other schools through- out the state of Wisconsin. MR.
