M. £« LinfS: I Horsman, K SS £ ' ' BAND The band had a very exciting and active year. They started the year by marching at all home football games; they were a pleasing aspect to halftime entertainment. Then they had the honor to go to Stevens Point Home- coming October 14, to march and support Mr. Bostad when he was installed into the Stevens Point Football Hall of Fame. Several members of the band participated in the All-Conference Band, held at Cambria on November 4. They did an excellent job. The Winter Concert was held December 12. Everyone there enjoyed the performance as the band and some chorus members put on their hats and scarfs and were able to get the audience to join them in singing Christmas carols. Many of the band members participated in the Solo-Ensemble Contests which were held March 3 at Westfield. The Spring Concert Festival was held May 12 at Poynette, and the Spring Concert was in May. They held a Pop Concert at the end of April. Once again some of the band members (as well as Chorus) took another trip to Chicago; they saw the Broadway play “The King and L A trip was scheduled for the band to go to “Great America'' in Gurnee, Illinois; to spend the day marching and performing while there. The pep band played at all honpe basketball and football games and did a superb job. The band finished the year by playing at the graduation ceremonies of the class of 1979. to Cn
