ONE ACT PLAYS The PHS Drama Department presented the annual One Act Play Contest on October 17, 1978. An assembly was held during the day for the students at which the plays were per- formed; also, an evening performance was given at the Wyocena Little Theatre. The plays which participated in the competi- tion included: The Dancer, which was a humorous saga of teenage life; Two Crooks and a Lady, which was a story of an elderly invalid who cunningly tricks two crooks out of stealing her jewels; and Red Carnations, where a boy, a girl, and a man engage in a very amusing trialogue near a park bench. The directors for the plays were Mrs. Nancy Carr and Mrs. Evelyn Goke. Red Carnations received first place at the local competition, and advanced to Conference competition at Poynette. They also advanced to further competition at Waunakee where they received a B rating for their efforts. 23
