CHEERLEADERS Cheerleading began in June for eight of the girls when they attended a cheerleading camp in Stevens Point. After one week of strenuous practice of jumps, cheers, and stunts they re- turned to Pardeeville prepared to cheer on the Bulldogs. Many hours of scheduled practice began in August and continued until February. A lot of hard work and a lot of fun went into this year's group, but they also accomplished many dif- ficult stunts and precision cheers. Cheerlead- ing this past year taught them cooperation and has left them good friends. Seniors on 75-76 squad were Ellen Barth, Kris Briggs, Deb Grogan and Connie Kath. GIRLS SPORTS The 1975-76 girls sports season has been very successful and provided girls with the opportunity to participate in activities that promote sportsmanship, school spirit, and physical fitness. With the discontinuation of GAA, a lot more girls went out for the travel- ing volleyball, basketball, and track teams. Not only did they leam skills while playing these different sports, but they also acquired good sportsmanship, which is especially need- ed when playing different schools in the con- ference. While participating in these sports, the girls can earn points, and with these points they can receive letters and pins. This year, for the first time girls may join the Varsity Club cfter earning a letter. 23

POM PONS This year there are twelve Pom Pon Girls, with representatives from every class — four freshmen, five sophomores, one junior, and two seniors. These girls were among the twenty girls who tried out before judges last spring. Over the summer some of the girls attended clinics, which helped them make up the routines for the performances. The Pom Pon Girls performed at all home football and basketball games. All the foot- ball routines are performed with the band, under the direction of Mr. Rusch. During basketball season routines are done to the band and popular hits. One of the highlights of the year was when the squad marched with the band in the Whitewater State University Homecoming parade. 25
