FOOTBALL VARSITY FOOTBALL It was the year of the Bulldogs in the 1975- 76 football season. Not only were they Dual County Conference Champions, but they were led by the leading scorer in the Conference. The Bulldogs finished with an impressive 8-1 record, beginning the season with a shutout and ending it with their fourth shutout. The last home game was against Westfield and was thought by all to be a championship game. Unfortunately for the Pioneers, the Bull- dogs proved to be too strong, especially with the return of senior Pat Standiford to help burn the Pioneers' cabin with a 44-8 win. Standi- ford, who had been sitting out the beginning of the season with a broken wrist, helped cele- brate Coach Bostad's birthday and Parent's Night with four touchdowns. Icing was added to the cake as seniors Ralph Turner and Stuart Van Swol scored to make Pardeeville’s record at the end of the game stand 7-1. Pardeeville's closing game of the 1975 sea- son was a success as the Bulldogs made the Pirates walk the plank at Fall River for a 7-0 victory. The game was the most physical one of the year as both teams shut each other out for three quarters. In the last quarter mighty Ralph Turner did it again by running the ball in for the only score of the game. Although it was quite a defensive battle, both teams made too many turnovers. Congratulations to Coach Bostad and the Bulldog team! This year's All-Conference squad included Ralph Turner on the offensive and defensive teams, Merwyn Breneman also on the offen- sive and defensive teams, Dan Pulver on the defensive and Dean Mulkey on the offen- sive. All were great Bulldog players and Turner, Pulver and Mulkey were seniors in the 1975-76 season. Honorable Mentions for the All-Dual team were: Dennis Taylor, Terry Gor- such, and Dan Pulver, all seniors, on the offen- sive team and Dean Mulkey, Charles Becker and Dennis Taylor on the defensive team.
