MANUEL MIRON The beginning of the school year brought a bundle of news. New teachers, new Home- coming, and new classes. Of course, several young adults enrolled as new students. One of the most unique new students came all the way from Mexico to attend PHS. Manuel Miron, participating in the Interna- tional Fellowship, Inc. student exchange serv- ice, arrived near the end of September to begin his scheduled six month visit. Manuel, a native of Monterrey, Mexico, comes from a family of six children. An avid sports fan, he enjoys soccer, baseball, skiing, and football. Attending all Bulldog athletic events, he decided to get into the action him- self and went out for the baseball team. Thoroughly enjoying his visit, he filed a re- quest to stay the remainder of the school year and graduate with the class of 1975 in May I like the people here in Pardeeville and will miss them when I leave, but it has been a very good year in this country. Manuel noted, It was much fun! 12
PAULO SCHWARTZSTEIN The students at PHS received an early Christmas surprise and the arrival ol the second foreign exchange student. Paulo Schwartzstein was welcomed just prior to the Christmas vacation for a six months stay. Paulo comes from Campinas, Sao Paulo in the sunny country of Brazil. Quickly adjusting to the cold and snow of Wisconsin, he enjoys snowmobiling, ice skating, and skiing. The kids are very friendly and very nice, ' Paulo said, I've really enjoyed this visit, but it is a little cold.” Like Manuel, he filed a request with the International Fellowhip, Inc. and will remain the rest of the school year. 13
