DEDICATION Very little is ever said very few are ever thanked, yet deep in the hearts of the students of the 1960 class is a special word of thanks for one who has done so much for us. She has written our tardy and absence slips, kept the records of our short stay here, mimeo- graphed so many announcements and walked many miles to do things for us. This lady has spent many more hours after school than we can imagine or possibly know about. To one who has served us so willingly, the Seniors dedicate their 1960 annual to Mrs. Thurston, our school secretary, as a way of expressing thanks for her wonderful service. SPECIAL THANKS The Senior Class of 1960 would like to thank: Mr. Kendall, our advisor for three years for all his guidance and help on the prom; Mrs. Lenz, our advisor this year for all the hours she spent helping the Newspaper Staff and this Annual to be a success; and Mr. Zaske, our other Senior advisor whose guiding hand gave us a gentle shove on the way to success. Also, a special word of thanks to our fine principal, Donald E. Russell for his co-opera- tion and assistance these past two years. We are deeply grateful for their unending efforts to prepare us for the future. JOftS Graduation — the fullment of four years, the climax of a gradual understanding of our- selves and our place in the world. Graduation — the beginning of new experiences,. the grasping of new goals, the appreciation of all that we have learned. We as a class shared together these years of growing up. But now we must find our place in the sun alone. Our hearts may be heavy as we leave Pardeeville High, but we are truly grateful for all she has done for us. Yes, it was work, but enjoyable work. As we turn the pages of the 1960 Whisper, we feel a surge of pride in a job well done. Everyone did their part, pouring forth their best efforts and we pro- gressed toward the goal of turning out a finish- ed product. Finally the goal was met. Homecoming festivities started on October 16, 1959, Thursday night with a huge bon fire, and pep meeting followed by a snake dance through town. On Homecoming day the parade was a great success. Mr. Zaske's Senior home room won first prize with They'll Be In Dutch Tonight. Mrs. Lenz's took second with They'H See Stars Tonight and Mrs. Trumbower's third with Hold That Line. That night, Fall River defeated Pardeeville. The dance was held at the gym with Don Peachey furnishing the music. King Bill Thurs- ton crowned Luann Monthey Queen. The Junior class was in charge of the decora- tions. They chose for the theme Football is King. A huge football on a pillow was on the stage. A shiny crown was placed on top of the football.
