THE WHISPER The Golden Anniversary of Pardeeville High School is being celebrated by the graduating class of 1954. In 1903-04 Pardeeville built its first high school. It was a frame structure of two stories. Both elementary and high school were held in this building. As the school grew, new courses were added and the attic and basement were utilized as classrooms. In 1923, a brick building of two stories was erected and the high school moved into this building. On April 12, 1950, a disastrous blaze destroyed the building. For a year and a half classes were held in the City Library, Legion Hall, and the Frederick Building. Tn January, 1952, we moved into the new building, built on the site of the old school. The gym was finished later that year. Read all about it. Get your copy of the :'etellall Tribune. Word has been recieved from a member of the class of '54 that now in 1964 a frontier town has been newly settled on the island of Sandbar by that famous explorer Wanda Atkinson better known as The Long Lost Explorer . She has also given us some information on the rest of the class who are the settlers of this prosperous town. Morris Babcock has a Hot-Rod Fix It All Shop and he seems to have worked up a very good business. His specialty is a plush lined racer which he made out of an old davenport and a power lawn mower. He calls it Connie . We find Charlene Barden busy writing a new novel in her own book shop called Book Worms Paradise which contains only her own writings. Howard Barden is busy counting his money which he has taken in from his gambling table at the U. 0. Me Casino. He seems to have worked up a very prosperous business. You would never guess who is the president of the Lonely Hearts Club none other than Carolyn Beahm. She has been very successful with all her customers but has not succeeded in finding someone for herself. Lois Brandsma is the star cowgirl on station NUTZ. You wake up early in the morning to Lois singing the sweet strains of I'm an Old Cowhand and her horse doing a tap dance routine. Wayne Breneman is the proprietor of the Friendly Funeral Home . He recieves no complaints from his customers. Anyone in trouble, contact Wayne, and he'll straighten you out. Helene Curtis is busy working at the Moo-Cow Dairy. She still favors the truck drivers. The Wear-Ever Apparel Shop is run by none other than Betty Dettman who has hired Nancy Edwards to model. Dick Edwards is now teaching ancient history in the public school and on the side sells a new fangled can opener. Norman Eggleston is happy as a famous architect who has designed many fine buildings, which incidentally have fallen. Hope the chicken house you are now designing will last, Norm! Velda Fisher, a talented young actress, is currently showing at the local theatre in My Life as a Bubble Dancer . Pat Fitzgeralds ambition to be a famous football player is coming true, slow but sure. He has started out as water boy and has big plans to work his way up. Arlene Gripentrog is now head chef at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. Must be her experience in the high school hot lunch program really paid off! Don Graack has worked up a thriving business as chiropractor. He is known the island over as the famous Punch Doctor. Tom Hitchcock is a faithful patient of his who now uses a cane to get around. Gladys Hilfiker is now working as waitress in Barneys Beanery , an exclusive restraunt where only the towns most prominent people dine. Lois Hill drives for the towns grocery store which is said to have very good delivery service. She has just been awarded a certificate for having gone five years without an accident. Keith Hutzler is now an Attorney-at-Law. He is now working on a terrific case----Krueger (Donna-that is) vs. Elite Corporation—seems their delivery truck ran over her pet dog and knocked one of his teeth out. She's sueing for one million dollars! Attorney Hutzler is confident they will win. Page Sponsored By PARDEEVILLE ELECTRIC COMMISSION John Wright, Manager Dale Johnson has become a successful traunt officer for the school. It seems he has changed his ideas since he attended school. Dick Lueptow is very contented as a door to door cosmetic salesman. The ladies seem to be very satisfied with his products. Elnetta Maginnis seems to be very happy running a day nursery. My! KyJ What a love for little childrenl You will find Mary Alice Kanthey in the English department of the school. She teaches Clark Gable instead of William Shakespeare. Carol McElroy is now a nurse at the Animal Hospital. She seems to get along very well with the patients. Janet Morgan is now head designer at the Coonskin Cap Company. Wonder why the business is going to everyone’s head? Shirley Merrill had some difficulties in the local beauty shop. It seems she has forgotten her high school chemistry, and because of this some of her customers are wearing wigs. We hear Lois Neesam has a job clerking in the Gamble Store. Rumors are that she is the proprietors wife. Seems like they have worked up a very prosperous business. Barabra Payne has devoted her life to dentistry. She is known as Painless Payne the Tooth Remover . Joe Pease's dream has come true. He is now the coach of an inter- nationally known Bean Bag Team. We hear that Mary Lou Peterson is one of the ten best dressed women of the world. She is wearing a chinchilla coat now. Her husband, Jerry's, business must be coming along fine. Of course, this is just his hobby. His real profession is veterinarian of the island. Jim Price is now the champion wrestler of the town. He has conouered some of the best such as Muscle Bound Minnie , and Betty Biceps . Elaine Robinson and Frances Sabean are working as models for the local Dimestore. They model some of the stores most equisite jewelry. We hear Connie Rohrbeck is a grease monkey in the stock car pits. She has been keeping Morris's red plush racer in running order. Dennis Smith is on his way to international fame as a concert pianist. He recently appeared at Carnegie Hall where he played his own beautiful composition called Hillbilly Concerto . They say he is a second Liberace. Pat Toppe seems to be doing very well as receptionist for the famous Punch Doctor . Seems she is doing his house work on the side. Shirley Wendt has had the good fortune of inheriting the Wendt Midget Taxi Company which is said to bring in millions of dollars annually. You would never guess what John White has invented—a new milking machine that enables you to set the time you want it to start. It milks the cow, turns itself off and moves on to the next one. 16 Page Sponsored By J. C. JAMIESON SON CO.
