Cafeteria ... Food and Friends Here dear, let me give you a little extra sauce on that. All the varieties of food served in the cafeteria taste so much better because they are served and prepared by a warm, courteous cafeteria staff. Another outstanding fact about the cafeteria food is its low cost. Thanks are due to the Pomptonian Caterers for their efforts in minimizing prices. Well prepared, nutritious hot lunches can still be had for less than a dollar. Friendly people, a good variety of food, and low prices make lunchtime a favorite period of the day for everyone. 16 CAFETERIA STAFF Back Row: Mrs. Georgette Holdefehr, Mrs. Ruth Gorham, Mrs. Eleanor Shaffer, Mrs. Mary Grillo, Mrs. Josephine Tuzio, Mrs. Ann Cargo, Mrs. Mildred Titta, Mrs. Mary Jursch. Front Row: Mrs. Simone Shields, Mrs. Mary Schiros, Mrs. Ann Boyle, Mrs. Theresa Links, Mrs. Lillian Gallo, Mrs. Dolores O ' Donnell. A

School Belles! Board of Education Secretaries ... Back Row: Mrs. Marilyn Brafman, Mrs. Ruth Mayer, Mrs. Jean Otis, Mrs. Kay Heger, Mrs. Rita Harper, Mrs. Anne Smolensky, Mrs. Catherine Lynn. Front Row: Mrs. Linda Giannantonio, Mrs. Jeanne Frost, Mrs. Thelma Hards, Mrs. Grace Nutland. Although they are little known to most students, the Board of Education secretaries play an important part in the maintenance of the Paramus School System. Mrs. T. Hards and her five assistants coordinate all the interlocking records and services of all the schools in Paramus. Mrs. N. MacDonald and Mrs. L Giannan¬ tonio are the two payroll clerks. Mrs. A. Smolensky and Mrs. K. Heger are budgetary control clerks. Mrs. J. Otis oversees the use of school facilities. In addition to these ladies, every man in the Board Office has an assistant. These include Mrs. J. Frost, secretary to Mr. Shelly; Mrs. G. Nutland, secretary to Dr. Dunn; Mrs. C. Lynn, secretary to Mr. Mele; Mrs. R. Harper, secretary to Mr. Van Pelt; Mrs. M. Braf¬ man, secretary to Mr. Galinsky; Mrs. R. Mayer, secre¬ tary to Mr. Koenig. High School Secretaries... Back Row: Mrs. Helen Sedlak, Mrs. Phillis Bonacasta, Mrs. Betty Vanderbeek, Mrs. Sophie Slotkin, Mrs. Joan Pappalardo, Mrs. Bertha Styles. Front Row: Mrs. Cynthia King, Mrs. Doris Woardell, Mrs. Catherine Sabella. Mrs. D. Woardell ' s legion of secretaries fights a daily battle with ringing telephones, saident schedules, unbalanced budgets, and the clock in an attempt to keep the High School running smoothly. Besides all this, this group also deals with students who have office appointments, does all of the school ' s clerical work, and generally keeps matters well in hand when the situation down at the office becomes frantic. Although they may occasionally lose a battle, they never lose the war!

CUSTODIAL STAFF Back Row: Mr. Vincent Candusio, Mr. Steve Kovacs, Mr. Charles Stelling, Mr. John J. Faith, Mr. Charles Haedrich, Mr. William H. Reilly. Front Row: Mr. Angelo Montagnino, Mr. Paul Luckow, Mr. Leon Trinchieri, Mr. Samuel Antine. Our custodians and matrons here at P.H.S. are warm and friendly people who are always ready to lend a hand. Every morning the school is shipshape thanks to the efforts of these gentlemen and ladies. However, their duties do not end with sweeping and cleaning. Garden¬ ing, shoveling ice and snow, assisting in fire drills, and running the incinerator are a few of the jobs they also handle. Our matrons are kept constantly busy cleaning and polishing the mirrors, doors, and windows. But, it is not for these duties alone that our custodians and matrons will be recalled. Almost every student can remember at least one time when one of these people took time out from their own work to lend assistance where it was needed. Hats off to the Caretakers of the Corridors! Mrs. Angie Terranova and Mrs. Pauline Wright, Matrons. 17
