Our Noble Navigators Dr. William V. Dunn Assistant Superintendent of Schools for General Administration As Assistant Superintendent, Dr. William V. Dunn has many important duties to perform. In charge of grades K-8, Dr. Dunn is responsible for the curriculum, budget, hiring of teachers, and other areas involving the elementary schools. Dr. Dunn believes that we not only need a good academic pro¬ gram, but we also need the proper atmosphere that supports the individual person. As this is an important part of our education, Dr. Dunn is concerned about each one, not only as a student, but also as a person. Dr. Dunn, therefore, is working hard to make sure that the educational process in Paramus constantly fulfills the needs of each individual person. Mr. Harry A. Galinsky Assistant Superintendent of Schools for Secondary Education Our new Assistant Superintendent of Schools for Secondary Education, Mr. Harry Galinsky, has come to Paramus with much experience. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University and his Master ' s degree from New York Univer¬ sity, Mr. Galinsky did graduate work at Seton Hall, Jersey City State, Tufts University, and Paterson State. He is presently a candidate for the Doctor of Education degree in Administration and Superinten¬ dency at Rutgers University. Mr. Galinsky served for twenty-two years in Hoboken, N. J. as a teacher at all levels, a guidance director, an elementary adminis¬ trator, and as an assistant to the superintendent. Having resided in Paramus for seventeen years, Mr. Galinsky and his wife have three children. He was the Youth Director at the Teaneck Jewish Community Center for six years, and then he held the same post in Paramus for seven years. He has also been a volun¬ teer in college counseling. Mr. Galinsky lists his interests as all sports, reading, working with students, and travel. Best wishes for many successful years in Paramus High School!

Mr. Elso Chiocca ... Friendly Farewell Mr. Elso Chiocca Acting Assistant Superintendent of Schools Mr. Elso Chiocca, Acting Assistant Superintendent of Schools, retired on December 31, 1971, having completed fifteen years of dedicated service in the Paramus School System and thirty-five years in education. Graduating from Emerson High School in Union City and receiving his bachelor ' s and master ' s degrees from Montclair State College, Mr. Chiocca began his teaching career in New Milford where he taught on the junior high level. He later taught in the Union City Schools on the junior and senior high levels and served as science department chair¬ man. Coming to Paramus High School as vice-principal when the school opened in 1957, he was instrumental in developing much of the present program and curriculum. In I960 Mr. Chiocca was appointed principal of West Brook Junior High when the school opened. He became acting assistant superintendent of schools in 1970. Paramus gives a friendly farewell to a man dedicated to the education of today ' s youth. 11

Working with students in an attempt to solve their personal problems is the task of this dedicated group. Its members operate, under the able leadership of Dr. B. Barbarosh, through private and seminar discussions, special testing, and personal counseling. Their efforts create a child-counselor rapport that bridges the generation gap. Students from all Paramus public schools may benefit from the aid of this competent team. Parent Council... The $.$. Scholarship To create a better understanding between students and parents is the principal goal of the Parent Council. This service organization, headed by Mr. J. McDonough, Principal, meets monthly to discuss school functions and problems which concern the community. Dollars for Scholars are raised each year by the Parent Council through their pop¬ ular Scholarship Show, a series of skits presented by each school in the town. Also, the Back to School Night program is run by this dedicated group of people. Many Paramus High students owe a debt of gratitude to these hard-working individ¬ uals for their help in the furthering of their education. Parent Council — we thank you! Back Row: Mr. M.
