g I . f MM Crystal Gazers Gazette RYAN INNOCENT Attorney Richard Meyer, with witnesses, Miss Toni Klein and Miss Evelyn Evans proved to the jury that Mr. Douglas Ryan was innocent of stealing a French poodle with a diamond collar from its owner, Lorraine Van Glahn. Awards For Race Many people have entered in the Hot Rod Contest for I960. They have built and driven their cars in this exciting race. First prize was presented to Robert Baron for rid- ing at 220 miles per hour. Second prize went to Gordon Russell for riding at 217 miles per hour. DODGERS BEAT YANKEES The World Series for 1963 was the most exciting ever played. The Dodgers, who beat the Yankees, gave all the credit to Marty Kosce, who hit 10 home runs during the four days they played, and to their pitcher, Roger Schwarz. Roger struck out 12 batters and walked one. HEADS AT BENDIX At Bendix Aviation, Teterboro, several new heads of depar tments, with their secretaries, have been chosen: Link White with Diana Cleary as secretary, Robert Hensel with Margaret Vreeland as secre¬ tary, Christopher Maraia with Bon¬ nie Bednarcik as secretary, and Ken¬ neth Siri with Carol Maher as sec¬ retary. Handelsman Saves Girl We must give credit to Melvin Handelsman for saving the life of Sharon Sparks, who swam too far out into the ocean at Ortley Beach. OPERATION A SUCCESS At the Medical Center Hospital in Jersey City, Doctor Richard Reichert with the aid of his nurses, Wendy Peyman and Muriel Tra¬ montane, operated on Edward Wy¬ man who had stubbed his toe.
