Warren-26 Co-Captain Mike Clark, Coach Danny Blake, and CoCaptain Ed Rosales. With a small squad on hand, Coach Danny Blake faced many problems. Opening with a hard fought tie 27-27 with Excelsior's Pilots, then scor- ing a decisive 33-O win over the Dominguez Dons, this year's JV's played hard all season. Mike Clark, who received the Most Valuable Player award at this year's Football Banquet, as well as Harold Shears and Gary Johnston will prove valu- able assets to the l960's varsity squad. Supple- mented by Junior High stand-outs, the future squads look promising. ,Nrm Ml . .,. -R. 4.7, 21-4 f

Almost every game brought new laurels to the school with victories in the last minute of play in four of the five league games, The opener with Compton found the Pirates behind 7-O with two minutes until halftime when Bob Marshall hit Bill Gibbons with a 40-yard TD pass and the halftime score stood 7-6. The Pirate attack bogged down- three minutes remained when QB Marshall again hit Gibbons for a 30-yard TD and a victory. The season s last game against Warren proved a fitting finale. With ten seconds until halftime Senior Stan Baker inter- cepted a Bear pass to cash in for a 6-O lead. Warren tied the score in the third. Marshall then hit Gibbons with passes to get within range then Manuel Perez scored on a Statue of Liberty play, later nullified by a penalty. Two plays later, QB Bob Marshall hit right end Roger Morissette for the winning TD and the Bee Crown. ee l0l'lJ PHS PHS PH PH - PH - PHS-I3 PH -25 P - 3 PHS-I2 ORD Excelsior Jordan .. Chaffey ,...
