Slate- -! SOUTH OF THE BORDER isn't as far away as one may think, this has , 1 been demonstrated enthusiastically by the ever-popular campus Span- ish Club. Handling its l959-l96O agenda were: President Ann Titus, Vice President Claudia Causey, and Treasurer Judy Rosic. The group sought to recapture the color and splendor of California's romantic Mexican Era during outings to San Juan Capistrano and to Padua Hills' las Posadas play at Christmas. All club proiects have been ' heartily supported by Mr. Jack Swift, club advisor. LATIN CLUB initiated AnaMaria and Bruno as full-fledged members I and enioyed in their company: a Halloween Party, October 26, a - . Progressive Christmas Dinner, the installation of newly elected French ' Club officers, a travelogue with Mr. Charles Porto in March, a sumptu- ous Roman Banquet, April 28, and an unforgettable May field trip to ' the Arboretum and the Huntington Library. Busy arranging all this have been President Joe Brooks, Vice President Ralaine Ramer, Secre- tray Lorna Rohde, Treasurer Melanie Fesmire, and Sponsor Mrs. Esther Ericson. Y i t l X mm CLUIQ FRENCH CLUB, also called Cercle sans Souci, matches its name and is a happy crowd interested in travel, foreign food, and European films. Because of these obiectives the members and Sponsor Mrs. Esther Ericson entertained Monsieur and Madame Celeste Martineau, French Canadians, applauded Mr. Charles Porto's slides on Europe by Car, eaten at Taix, and are envying Edith TayIor's opportunity to S S use her French this summer in Belgium. The club's first officers have been: President Joe Brooks, Vice President Melanie Fesmire, Secretary Lorna Rohde, and Treasurer Kathy Thomas.
