BAND enthusiasts expressed words of praise wherever the handsomely attired Pirate Marching Band, in smart maroon and white uniforms, appeared. Under the direc- tion of Mr. Kenneth Briggs and led by Drum Major Rhoda Goodwin, this fine group added that extra spark to half-time activities and pep assemblies last fall. Re- warded for all the hours of hard work put into practicing, the group was asked to perform at the Pomona Fair, September 295 in the Veterans' Day Parade, November ll, the Musical Festival, March 4, at which the band was awarded the highest possible rating of Superior, and at the Music and Arts Festival, May l2.
