MODERN DANCE is one of the most creative classes on campus. Here all senior girls are given an opportunity to acquire expression through movement, as well as grace and poise. These are displayed in original chore- ographies, that are performed in front of the class for constructive criticisms. The excel- lent numbers which are offered reflect credit on the atmosphere created by the instructor, Mrs. Margaret Brush. Grace, imagination, and fire characterize the creative numbers offered in modern dance. PRACTICAL CHEMISTRY is offered to all students concerned with the basic con- cepts of chemistry, but without the usual emphasis on mathematics. However, members soon discover that they must have a desire to work, for the curricu- lum ranges from individual experiments to interest lectures, and demonstrations provided by Mr. Austin Harper, science instructor, in Paramount's modern and well equipped laboratories, .I Linda Burns, Ronald De Champlain, Sharon Sarkness, and Petit Rai find everything French exciting, from bouillabaisse to kiosks. FRENCH, a new and challenging course, is open to all Pirates interested in the ba- sic study and cultural aspects of a foreign language. Under the supervision of Mrs. Esther Ericson, students discover the sig- nificonce of understanding a people and its culture in the changing world in which we live. Field trips to French restaurants and current foreign films add spice to irregular verbs, Z N I r
