Under the giant arcs, before the largest crowd in Paramount's annals, Pirate Pacettes, led by Judi Mills, and the Marching Band, conducted by Bandmaster Kenneth Briggs, form a half moon as they create atmosphere to ln the Mood, at the sixth annual Homecoming Game, November 2l, 1958. in a Blaze of Glory Played xX ff get-g I a 'F . f Y. ,vi P 4 S W A 7 Q I if Q . Undefeated champions, these varsity players drew thousands to applaud their skill, fight, and invincible drive. Metropolitan sport pages followed their conquering course with new respect for Paramount. ln their honor great signs flared across the gym before each game. Cor- saire Champ Tags flew from Pirate lapels. White 'mums, sold by seniors, were must's for Polly Pirates. Pacettes, band, maiorettes, song, flag, and cheer leaders, and rooters proudly kept the great green Coast League Sportsmanship Flag fly- ing over Pirateland. From the first decisive 19-O win over Excelsior, September 26, to the breath- taking l7-l4 victory snatched from Downey, No- vember 2l, this season swept Paramount breath- lessly into the spotlight's blaze reserved only for champions! . Victorious Pirates shoulder their delighted coach, Mr. Cleo Cordell . . . Pert and peppy song leaders enliven football pep assembly . . . Jerry Hombs leads fellow teammates in a display of football technique . . . Her Royal Highness Sondra Brooks . . . Pepped up Pirates return to Santa Monica's field following halftime . . . Radiant princesses, Susan Miller and Susan Evans, display their winning smiles , . . Paramount's proud emblem . . .
