As activities it chose such varied pleasures as a beach party and an evening at the opera, in this case, Don Carlos. Its pre- siding officers have been: Wesley Osburn, Wayne Deming, president, Wayne Dem- ing, vice president, Sally Hollyfield, sec- retary, Linda Huffaker, treasurer, and Mr. Kenneth Briggs, Mr. William Stevens, sponsors. Row Two: Mr. Kenneth Briggs, Eugene Little, Linda Huf- faker Mr William Stevens THE BOWLING CLUB is one of the largest clubs on the campus and is composed of girls and fellows who enioy this currently popular sport. Its members have been bowling every Monday night at Marina Bowl since February. ln an inter-school bowling match between Paramount and Jordan, the Pirates brought back a 30-l victory. Top scorer to date is Bob Vis, 215. lnformal, the club has no officers, but Richard Ryan acts as manager. Its spon- sor hos been Mr. John Cummings. THE DA VINCI ART CLUB is one of the oldest clubs on the Pirate campus. This year its members enioyed a field trip to Art Center, Los Angeles, in October, and a very successful and colorful art auction on April Fool's Day. Presiding officers have been Janet Lutz and Ron Martel, president, Martha Fuchs, Barbara Pulsifer, vice president, Pat Harlan, Janet Lutz, secretary, Marilee Heyer, Don Merrifield, treasurer. J, r INDUSTRIAL ARTS CLUB ap- peals to fellows interested in shop work and mechanical drawing. Field trips to the Los Angeles Boat Show, Union Oil Research laboratory, and an aluminum foundry proved valuable. This group repre- sented Paramount at th e A.l.A.A. National Convention, Long Beach. Officiating as presidents this year were Jim Mills, John Frisbie, vice presi- dents, Dave Snethen, Dave Dupree, secretaries, John Fris- bie, Richard Causey, treasur- ers, Frank Shubert, Jim Bohn, sergeant-at-arms, Dave Sne- then, photographer, D a v e Hurt. Mr. Dwight Knox spon- sored this club. SPANISH CLUB was organized the year that Paramount was founded, l954. A large group usually, it is full of fun. lts initiation was held in the Spanish room and followed by a trip to Olvera Street, Los Angeles, where the group thoroughly enioyed a Spanish dinner topped off with sight-seeing. ln April, ioining the Romans, the members traveled to Hemet to enioy the famous Ramona Pageant. President Carolyn Gilusich has been assisted in her work by Vice President Sharon Coombes, Secretary-Treasurer Sandra Moreno and Sponsor Mr. Jack Swift. LATIN CLUB, second oldest club at Paramount, participated in the F.B.L.A. Christmas baskets and helped install the Rally Court tables. Led by President Joe Brooks, Vice President Ken Ouchi, Secretary Lorna Rohde, and Treasurer Dale Brandon, the group visited Expo- sition Park, had two initiations, a progressive Christmas dinner, saw the Ramona Pageant, and staged its traditional Roman Banquet with Barbara Pulsifer and Steve Goltra as empress and emperor. Guests of honor were Mrs. Margaret Barr and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Rozelle. This club's sponsor since its founding has been Mrs. Esther Ericson.
