uf this Progress Action, decision, and iustice, tempered with humor, fill the busy days of Vice Principal Harold Tonini. Implementing policies established by the Paramount Unified School District Board, the Pirate faculty, and the Student Council makes his iob no easy one. His forthrightness, courage, and sense of proportion help him and all Pirates devoted to the ideal of a clean, vital, and purposeful school to come nearer to the realization of their goal. Alumnus of the Universities of California and Southern California and former officer of the United States Navy, Mr. Tonini is a source of strength and confidence to those who seek his aid or counsel. Mr. Harold Tonini, assistant principal, discusses school business with Senior Dennis Paulson.

Four years, thanks to this calm and democratic graduate of Wisconsin University, have netted few crises and many improved procedures. Last fall both the new closed campus and activity card policies clicked smoothly into place. Campus morale was evidenced by the retention of the Coast League Sportsmanship Trophy for the second consecutive football season. Valuable work in curriculum building was carried on by faculty committees. Even polio vaccine shots for adults and Pirates alike produced little more than a ripple on the placid sea of day-by-day living and learning. Underlying this healthy atmosphere rests Mr. Fuszard's faith in individual Pirates and his dedication to the vital role of education in this swiftly changing world. Tbsp who Int the nurse
