NURSING CLUB, one of the newer clubs, was created for students interested in ca- reers allied with medicine. Mrs, Frances Rhodes, school nurse, directed the group, assisted by Carole Mac Lean, president, Diana Morgan, vice president, Helena Rocha, treasurer. Kept busy with details of organization, the members nevertheless found time to go to a Recruitment Tea at the Los Angeles County General Hospital. C , ,.-ga ' 9 s 6. Row One Penny Worley Shenll Oliver Gloria Potocki, Carol: Moser, Maureen Malone, Sponsor Miss Marcene Noonan. Row Two Wayne Deming Jim Smotherman, Henry Tromp, Dave Kurt, Chuck Holland, Gilbert Mclntyre, Mickey Morton, BOWLING CLUB, one of the clubs organized on campus this spring got off in full swing. Sponsored by Miss Marcene Noonan, the cIub's newly installed officers were: Chuck Holland, president, Gloria Potocki, secretary, and Penny Worley, treasurer. Teams were selected, and the club played weekly at the Lakewood Bowl. A trophy, presented to the school, will carry the name of each winning team. Individual trophies were presented by the club to outstanding players among whom were: Bob Ordway, Carole Moser, Wesley Zwiefel and Chuck Holland. INDUSTRIAL ART CLUB was a group reorganized in place of a club of drafting students which existed for the past three years. It purposed to offer industrial and vocational experience. Spon- sored by Mr. Dwight Knox, Mr. Richard Orcutt, and Mr. Francis Zanitsch, it included outstanding shop students. Each month a Pirate was selected from each shop course as eligible to ioin. Chairman for the fellows was Stephen Foster. The club sponsored the Industrial Award Show, May 29-31 and enioyed a field trip to the Sportsman Show.

SCIENCE CLUB, a vitally needed organization, was sponsored on campus early this year. ln charge of all its activities were George Homer, president, Wes Menard, Curt Hanson, vice presidents, Mary Jo Lewis, secretary, Priscilla Grobe, treasurer, and Bob DeVries, program director. The group attended a meeting of the Los Angeles County Associated Science Clubs held at the Los Angeles County Museum. Field trips to the Kelco Company and Cal Tech were profitable. A party for members and their guests rounded oft the year. f', Q YC N fl xl 'i'ATx0 ff .., ,1 0 4 l 'P A E 2 S X ST 1' 12111 KEY CLUB, boys' service organization, has again been an asset to the Pirate campus. Sponsored by Mr. Edward Sirotnak and Mr. Robert Mortenson, these Pirates attended the Key Club Ball at the Ambassador Hotel, filled Christmas baskets for needy families, and assisted the doctors with polio shots. Officers for the year were: Wes Menard, president, John Baird, vice president, Bruce Owens, secretary, and Jan Bandringa, treasurer. Row One: Sponsor Mr. Robert Mortenson, Wesley Menard, Sponsor Mr. Edward Sirotnak. Row Two: George Homer, Bill Bolton, James Mills, Pat Bolton, Ronnie Jackson, Bill Waters.
