PE is. . . an active way of releasing physical energy Miss Betty Mcllvain Mr. Bon Barela Miss Mary Lou Kostielney Department Chairman Even with the reduction in stu- dents this year, the Physical Educa- tion facilities are being well used, stated Miss Betty Mcllvain, physical education department head. The facilities include the football and softball fields, the gyms and the tennis courts along with the dance room. The new gym is used to its full capacity as classes play warball, badminton and many other activities. Paradise Valley Park began con- struction in December on some new Racquetball courts which will be used by the PE classes along with the public. This year the department has con- tinued with the coeducational classes. The classes offer softball, volleyball, tennis and badminton. Mrs. Barbara Paajanen, one of the girls' PE teachers, has added a new addition to her family. She had an 8 pound 3 ounce baby boy named Aaron Timothy. -4 M Sherri Gilderoy, Debbie Biven and Karen Melvin are coming up the court to score some points in a game of Basketball. u t - is The third hour PE class fight for the ball while playing a rough game of soccer.

One ot Gara Brady's duties is running an oftset printing machine. 'Flin 'W' t, 1 Students in the business department were able to prac- tice on an entirely new type- writer this year. lt's an Elec- tronic IBM 75 with memory and 26 storage areas with a capacity to store 7,500 characters. The students learn to use this advanced typewriter in prepara- tion for work after high school. The memory makes it possible to recall things done previously without having to type them overagain. This year's business depart- ment, supervised by Ivtrs. Mari- lyn Patrick, gained a new teacher this year, Mrs. Linda Loy, who teaches Becord Keep- ing, General Business and Typ- ing. With the lower enrollment this year one typing room was tree for at least one period ot the day for students to practice their skills and catch up on their work. The Trojan Corner is Paradise Valley High School's General Store with a variety ot new mer- chandise this year. Students working at the store earn a credit in business while trying to achieve such goals as a career in merchandising and selling. 59 students for occupations
