January Students of the Month: James Ford and Joanne Picerno. This year a new program was initiated to choose the students ofthe Month. The sponsor of this program is Mr. Rudy Burgoz, business teacher. First, all the teachers nominate their choice for the Student of the Month. These teach- ers give various reasons for their choice. These reasons could be academic, scholastic andfor community service. Mr. Burgoz then lists the stu- dents' accomplishments. One teacher from every department is selected to vote. A different teacher is selected each month so no teacher can always vote forthe same student. The teachers select the vote of their choice and the highest vote getter wins. In case of a tie Mr. Burgoz and Dr. Thomas Nightingale, assistant principal, cast the deciding vote. February Students of the Month: Mike Greene and Liza Acunaf 43
