for a new school year After a long day, students relax by joining in the game of Simon Says. Joanne Picerno and Mr. Schwarz start off the first game of the day by racing to the finish line during the Three Legged Race. Swimming, water skiing and working were among the things most of us were doing on August 19 and 20. But not all members of the students body were involved in these activities. Many of them were here at school participating in Spirit Day. Student Council sponsored this year's Spirit Day. Other clubs that participated included the Pom and Cheer lines, Band, the Football team, the Angel Drill team and other class and club members. The first day of activities consisted of painting garbage cans and making posters. Finishing up the posters and playing games were on the agenda for the second day. They played such games as tug-of-war, simon says, 3-legged races and balloon throwing. The best part of Spirit Day was the activities held after the luncheon, said Miss Murphy, Stu- dent Council sponsor. lt was much more pro- ductive this year. ' Spirit Day started at 7 a.m. and ended at 3 p.m. each day. The hamburgers were good, said Sophomore, Darin Lanneghan, who seemed to have enjoyed the hamburger cook- out. Cooks included Mr. Kopas, Dr. Nightingale, assistant principals and Mr. Pat Patton of main- tenance. rif Day
